I think the reissue is slightly slower. Really, barely noticeably slower and lower in pitch. Fuck it, this EMI version is the one I grew up with so happy days. It was cheap enough off ebay.
I saw you mention this on here before years ago, I'd only the reissue version with the bonus tracks, so I ordered the original cd. I can't spot the missing bar thoughCould you tell us what time it's at?
It's at 2:42, shortly after the first chorus. There are two bars of the celtic sounding riff, followed by a bar of open E chugging, a three bar section. Then the same section repeats and there are three bars of the celtic sounding riff and the open E bar straight afterwards, a normal four bar section. When the section repeats later in the song at 3:07, both times it has three bars of the riff followed by the bar of open E. It baffles me that they chose to do this, it's so fucking jarring. The original, of course, has four bars every time.
I realise I now have bought this CD three times. I bought the Sanctuary version years ago and bought a Electric Circus/Headless Children double CD edition a few years later hoping it had the unedited version. Should have stuck with my original tape

I can't believe they went to the trouble of shaving that tiny little bit off

The irony of it all, it that Iron Maiden have an album in my top 5 of all time, while Priest don't, so not a Maiden hater by any means, but fuck Dickinson in this instance....
ah he's not having a go at Halford, just laughing at the absurdity of putting 3 words of a chorus from a bands biggest hit on a prompter.

Maiden and Priest need to get their shit together and do a double header before it's too late.
Wouldn't be anything in it for Maiden.

- Singers who stand in front of the stag rather than on it, trying to look intense
In the context of this thread I can't work out if that's a typo or not.

Me and a mate were walking down the road one day and this young wan about 4 years of age was cycling towards us, the bike had stabilizers on it that's how young she was, probably had a little basket and a bell as well and ribbons on the handlebars. Anyway as soon as she gets to us, she roars "hippies!"

Shit they'll sell that, so can't leave it on the long finger to buy a ticket.
100 quid might be expensive but they'll be playing an hour and a half longer than most other acts charging the same

What capacity is Marlay? Never been there for a gig

Guy second from right would be the "fat cunt" in any other band, but looks slim in comparison

Hopefully there'll be day tickets released, would like to see FNM but no interest in any of the other bands on that bill.
What's the capacity? I think AC/DC did something like 70 or 80 thousand, can't see any of those acts being anywhere near big enough to draw those numbers, which bodes well for them releasing day tickets later.

Great gig.
Thought a lot of the fans didn't know Satan Prayer though and it made the singalong section a bit cringe.

The fact that he gets a few pence every time they play the song, every time someone buys the album or (legally) downloads/streams it is escaping him, it seems.
Does he?
Not an expert on how royalties work, but the song wasn't written by Thin Lizzy.

I'd refer to A Real Dead One from when it was just Gers and Murray. Some really ropey sounding rhythm guitar playing on that.
Point is, you can hear it. It doesn't have the volume turned down.
I'm not arguing about whether Janick is good or not. I'm saying the idea that he's on stage and they have his guitar turned down is clearly nonsense.

Dude he plays like that from the moment they come on stage. Yes, I do believe whilst acting the twat his guitar is turned down. As stated elsewhere it's only upped when he's soloing. You'd have to be a complete fanboy to think otherwise.
Here's another of about a billion available clips.

There's no audible difference between when he's "playing" or acting the gimp.
That's the same track
