Perry is a great player alright but by all accounts he's a complete dick to deal with.

Seems to always get really nasty when retirement is on the horizon. For a high profile band there's no better example than Bon Jovi minus Richie Sambora, but I guess once they can fill the RDS it ain't a problem.

was quite the source of tension , especially when they started demanding things like their own private dressing room at each venue, kinda defeats the purpose of the touring experience no?

Reading Steve Gormans Hard To Handle at the minute, pretty good! It manages to avoid a lot of the usual cliches found in these things, and focuses primarily on the interactions between band members. The Robinson brothers come across as complete gimps but it's not a 400 page character assassination as it's balanced with acknowledgement of their talents etc.
