What was the name of that festival that was going to take place in punchestown with faith no more, deftones, mastodon, at the gates etc etc? Was cancelled cause of covid-Sunstroke was it? Had an unreal lineup too

Does anyone see a certain irony in the fact that the topic that has generated the most debate and the most pages in such a short period of time in ages isn't even about a metal band!! 

But as an aside, are there any other Irish bands ye think would be suitable to headline Slane? And I'm not just talking Spotify numbers or GAA metrics here 

I reckon if Kingfisher and Amble did a Co headline thing they probably could do Slane - now that really is awful shite though......

Neither here nor there, but that lead singer is an unbearable cunt so it's entirely apt that they're considered the spiritual heirs to the U2 throne.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone describe them as the spiritual heirs to the U2 throne tbh...

I fucking love Fontaines.... Always said I'd only go back to Slane for AC/DC or Oasis but it looks like I'm full of shite..  This is a very un-metal post but such is life.... 

The first part of that was excellent - haven't laughed that hard in a long time.....

The second part dragged on way too long though....

First time in the Ambassador - the girls working there said they are open to having metal gigs there again... Kept thinking what it must have been like seeing Slayer there back in the day!!!!!

Decided on a whim to get a ticket for this today... Don't know a huge amount about him ,or SYL for that matter, but should be a bit of craic

Tbh he's part poet, part comedian, part musician... Hasn't been that cranky the times I've seen him, but have heard some horror stories... Ironically enough, the best songs he sings aren't his own for the most part....

Went to see him for the 4th time on Sunday - worst of the 4 and still brilliant... How does he fare on the pallette of the other metal listening folk here??
