Went to see him for the 4th time on Sunday - worst of the 4 and still brilliant... How does he fare on the pallette of the other metal listening folk here??

Surprised there is no thread for them (couldn't find one when I searched anwyay :-\). New album released a few days ago - probably the only thrash band who never strayed from the formula - people might say Slayer but Diabolus had some weird stuff on it. Definitely the most feral of the German three and possibly the most consistent too.... Thoughts...?

No topic for them I don't think. Was just watching their performance at Hellfest on YouTube and their guitarist is wearing a From the Bogs of Aughiska top! Is there a connection or is he just a fan??

Ambitious enough but defo a show worth hitting for Amon Amarth alone.

Anyone listen to these lads?  Their album called Misanthropic Breed came up as a suggestion on my Spotify for stuff I missed in 2020. It takes a lot these days for me to get into new metal but I loved it - part Entombed, hints of Death possibly and some Iron Malden influences in parts too. Well worth a spin

Metal Discussion / Cruiscin Lan, Cork
September 12, 2020, 07:20:57 AM
Sorted a job in Cork a few weeks ago after 4 years in Dublin - went for a walk to the Cruiscin for nostalgias sake  just to see what was left of it. There's 4 application notices dated from April on it applying for it to be changed to a medical practice, shop, retail space and apartments. Didn't think it was big enough to accommodate all that but anyway.

What were people's experiences of it? I was only there 3 times - first time being when I was a fresh 17 year old to see Exodus, then there was the Cannibal Corpse and Destruction shows. Don't remember much of it but I remember my first thoughts of the Voodoo Lounge in Dublin was that it was fucking shite in comparison.

Metal Discussion / Best Thrash band

Put up a poll ages ago out of boredom and same applies here. I know there could have been dozens of options I could have put up but just picked the bands I think people would be most likely to pick.

Was skimming through a metal hammer from 2000 and saw an interview with the lead singer - never realised they were from Cork. Was anyone here a fan back in the day?
