Just a reminder on this I suppose for anyone who might be interested. No word on support (I don't use facebook so I'm sure there's event pages mentioning who it is)
Dec 13 - Cork Cypress Avenue
Dec 14 - Dublin Thomas House
Still think the Thomas House is a strange venue for this one but sure we'll see.
Got tickets for the Cork gig, looking forward to this.
Soothsayer are supporting there but no idea on Dublin.
Still Kinda tempted to go to Cork because I somehow haven't seen Soothsayer yet..but it's a day and a half off work and I live 10 mins on the bus from Thomas Street so I guess I'll keep it local!
Yeah a bit handier than the trek to Cork! Just had a look at the Dublin event there on fb, Ruari O'Baoighaill down for support. Never actually heard him but it's meant to be heavy ambient drone, could be a good fit.

Soothsayer are brilliant live. They put you into a trance and the frontman is class.
I saw Bell Witch in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago. I somehow had no idea there was only bass, and no guitar. The two lads are fantastic players and super tight. I enjoyed it a lot but honestly, after half an hour I'd had enough as Mirror Reaper is very samey throughout and there is absolutely no variety in tempo. I'd certainly recommend going to see them though.
Fuck. Dublin is sold out?????
Just checked FB for sales, seems it is, but they've been posting cancelled tickets for resale so you might get one closer to the day.
The event page lists 380 people going. I know it's not actually that but could you imagine nearly 400 people downstairs in Thomas House? You'd barely fit 4.
got my ticket yesterday (re-sale). can't wait for this one

heading to this instead of my work Xmas party. should be a wise decision!
Last time I went to a gig downstairs in TH it was Warpath!
Is it still... "intimate"?
Looking forward to this.
Wow, had put my ticket on the long finger. Does anyone know the official capacity? 400 sounds like a safety hazard based on my recollection of the place.
Gawd, I think from memory playing there years ago it was supposed to be 100 but It felt more like 60? I'm off to Cork anyway.
Rato Raro and Abandon Incarnate the following night... go all out, sure. ;)
That whole weekend in Cork is mental for heavy gigs.
Sorry for the cross-post, but turns out I can't make the Dublin gig...
2 tickets for sale here: https://forum.metalwarfare.com/index.php?topic=128.0

Alas my parental responsibilities mean I can't.
.
Anyone know what are the stage times for Friday night???
Same question but for Cork (I'm a non facebooker so don't give me that "they're on facebook" shit ;D). Can't believe it's taken me this long to actually get to see Soothsayer, as excited about that as I am Bell Witch.
Got a spare ticket if any heads need one incidentally.
Also did I see somewhere that these shows are seated??

A tweet from the venue says Soothsayer 8pm, Bell Witch 9pm

Hey Jamie, it certainly has, unfortunately it will be a while longer. I'm passing on tonight. The Mirror Reaper album does nothing for me,
Was at the Cork gig last night. Absolutely unreal. I don't really know how to explain how savage that was. It was bleak, miserable, slow, and completely engrossing. Didn't want to miss a minute of it. Sound was great too. Very glad I went down. Anyone going to the Dublin show tonight is in for a treat.

it really was mesmerising alright. I was initially quite worried that the album might be too long and drawn out to focus on live for 82 mins but it really wasn't, totally engrossing.
Great show. My appreciation for them has been increased by finding out that Jess was previously in a bunch of grind bands too!Dublin is in for a treat for sure
Any definite set times? Thanks
Ruairi O Baoighill - 9.15
Bell Witch - 10.15

Excellent. Thank you.
Fantastic gig in Cork last night, fair play to the PB lads for putting it on. Really got sucked into Bell Witch's performance. The sound was spot on. Good few heads travelled for this one from our way too, which was nice to see. Interested to hear how Dublin went. I heard the cap is 130 for Thomas House?
I do wonder why people go to gigs of this ilk just to chat the whole way through it. Had to move right up the front to drown out a duo of groups talking at full pelt and full volume through the first 20+ minutes. I appreciate people use these occasions to catch up but of all gigs to talk at.. this one? Feckin go to a regular bar.
I thought the show was fantastic. Crowd were good in Dublin, no chatters around me.
My first time in the venue, its pretty shit but they provided me with Bell Witch so really shouldn't complain! Would have been nice to see it somewhere with a nicer set up to enjoy the visuals. But I guess there's no real options.

There is no earthly way 130 people would fit into the bottom of there surely. It's smaller than the kasbah.
unreal gig last night. sound was really good. venue was ridiculous though. the perfectly placed pillar completely obscures your view and they may as well have not played the film at all. Not only could you barely see it but some guy's head was in the way of the projector for most of the gig. capacity looked to be more like 60.
Totally engrossed throughout the whole set. It's a perfect example of building and releasing tension taken to its extreme. The climax section was incredible. Didn't realise how much of the vocals Erik Moggridge did on the album, he was a critical part of the last third.
