They'll pick a band or artist and do a comprehensive lookback on their work - listening to the Supuration episode this morning, having just finished the Solefald one. It'll make you check out a lot of bands you probably ignored.
This is fucking class.

There's a quick new episode about "Metal Laughs" which is gas.I'd forgotten about the Massacre one.

The Always Sunny Podcast will be doing a live show in 3 Arena in April,

Tickets saucy enough at €57, probably more for decent seats

I've been listening to Diary of a CEO recently. Great podcast with a wide range of interesting people, most of whom I know absolutely nothing about.

A fascinating interview here with Nick Cave.

Nice one. I must have a listen to that.

While I'm here... I've started listening to "Nothing Is Real" a podcast series about The Beatles.

Hosted by two Irish lads who won some international mastermind type thing on the Fab Four two years running.

If you're into The Beatles and, like me, you love the minutiae of their career then give it a whirl.

There's some fun facts for the casual listener too.

The one with Jimmy Car was surprisingly good. Just hit one and random and see how you get on.

Listening to Battle of the Bands, a good idea executed moderately well. Mayhem vs Burzum, Metallica vs Megadeth, etc, just going through the histories involved.

Just discovered that the Tommy/Hector/Laurita podcast is finished for good. That's a pity, I enjoyed listening to it.

Has anybody ever listened to the members only podcast?
It's €3.50 for a 1 month membership for 100 episodes. Might give it a go.

I haven't seen this one mentioned, well well worth any self-respecting music nerd's time

A History of Rock Music in 500 Songs, a fairly ambitious project that's been on the go a few years and is only at episode 177 now. It is what it says on the tin, tracing rock history as far back as possible, allowing for what he says himself in that it's impossible to pick a "first" anything.

It's really really in-depth stuff, with some of the best research I think I've ever heard. The episode on "All You Need is Love" is nearly 4 hours for example. It's an outlier, so don't let it scare you off because he even makes that compelling. He does really great work contextualising the formation of the songs and the lives of the artists, including lots of social history, technological history, and pinning down the artistic influences and overlapping that happened.

Yeah the lads don't fuck around with the running times.

Think the Venom series is almost 20 hours!

Never heard of that one. Must have a peek.

I watched Billy Corgan's podcast earlier where he interviewed the dude behind Soft White Underbelly. It was quite interesting even if he's often guilty of interrupting his interviewee. One oddity that stuck out to me was that every time the dude said shit it was deleted but when he said fuck or sucking dick it wasn't

Watched the Al Jorgenson episode of Corgans one. Billy seemed to try to get Uncle Al to talk shite about Reznor but he wouldn't take the bait.

One of the lads who's a pumpkins fan was saying most of the episodes are like that, so he's obviously trying to go for the controversy for clicks.
