Very tempted by this, I don't mind the ticket price, it's grand for 2 decent days of metal, but it's the accomodation that'd clean me out. You'd have to head there the night before to get the most out if it (for me anyway, I'd have 2 buses to get each way) and it all adds up.

Bank holiday weekend probably doesnt help, plus there is a shortage of hotel beds in Cork anyway. So rooms that are available are a ridiculous price id imagine.

There's always Sheila's hostel. Never stayed there myself, but I've heard it's cheap and cheerful.
I make big poos.

My sister works for the Clayton group and can usually get a decent staff rate, I'll see what she can do and decide then. That'd be handy, it's just around the corner (more or less) and a decent hotel by all accounts.

I think Cancer  were ment to play Dublinback in the early 90s with Immolation but they got replaced ?(someone can probably clear that up).Benediction played Nancys around 94..

Cancer were mooted to play Cork back in the day as well. That was on the local grapevine and Shane Fitzsimons was a promotor and had a weekly article in the Echo at the time and he said they were due in the next few months. That was 1991 IIRC and I think we ended up getting PL's Gothic tour instead.

Who has the painted Dead Shall Rise biker jacket at this stage anyway?? Murphy used to do some class album covers in Mayfield Community School at the time with Obituary, Bolt Thrower, Kreator etc.

Benediction played Nancys in March 1993? Doomsgame brought them over for Cork and Dublin. A day time gig with Shane O'Neill doing the merch for Benediction 😃 (as coincidence had it I lost my Benediction hoodie in Birmingham 6 yearslater 😆). Hardly anyone there when they had a bigger profile, might have been down to no local support or organisation?

They were supposed to support deicide but it fell through for whatever reason

Jaysus, no fear of your memory slipping anyway.

Cheers. Hoping to keep it steadily growing from year to year, both in terms of turnout and the quality of the lineup.
