I am posting this in the 'off topic' section because this isn't a metal band per se but today I was listening to 'Love Like Blood' and was curious about other songs or releases by the band that people here could recommend? I know that there are probably a few fans of the band here. Thanks :abbath:

Get Laugh? I Nearly Bought One!, it's a compilation from '79 to '90. Essential, and a good barometer as to whether you'd like them in general. Album wise: both self-titled albums, What's THIS For?, Ha! Killing Joke Live, Night Time, Revelations, Extremities, Dirt & Various Repressed Emotions, Pandemonium, Absolute Dissent, MMXII - all excellent. The Peel Sessions is also fantastic.

First s/t and "Whats this for?" are the ones I return to the most, probably them at their most abrasive anyway. Think they're playing here soon and I'd definitely recommend seeing them live.

Playing next week in the Academy.

Classic band, first 5 albums are all great for the post-punk stuff, with the debut being my favourite. Their last few albums starting with the 2003 self titled is really good for their more metal stuff.

Absolute Dissent is the one which does it for me, above all others. It's incredible and, if you don't like it, they're probably not the band for you. All the albums are good, though. The last one, Pylon, is also a great starting point. Amazing band, the material from 35 years into their career is just as strong as the early stuff. They only clicked with me a couple of years ago and now I can't live without them.

I only have Pandemonium and Absolute Dissent. Really must investigate more. Millennium and Pandemonium are 2 of the best songs of the 90s, without a doubt. I think I never became a huge death metal fan as songs like those showed a band could be incredibly heavy without needing growls. His vocals are just class.

And this thread should definitely be in the main forum.

Another shout for Absolute Dissent. The Great Cull is one of the greatest riffs known to man. And those lyrics! Pure class.

A shout for all of it with the exception of Outside The Gate, which is chronically shit.

Absolute Dissent, Nighttime and Hosannas from the Basements of Hell are my faves

Just reading Jaz passed out twice at their gig in London on Saturday. Hope he's alright.

Brighton gig seemed to go smoothly so all should be well for tonight. This should be fucking great, they were fantastic in Hamburg last year.

A band called Radical Dance Faction are supporting. Not familiar with them but wikipedia says they're a punk/dub/ska band from the 80's.

Love to be going to this but once more, life got in the way. Sickened.
