Will check that out, I've heard everything up until Disintegration.

In that case, Wish and Bloodflowers are the best of the post-Disintegration releases. Only Wild Mood Swings is subpar TBF. It's alright but compared to their other stuff it doesn't get a look in. Very of its time.

Fuck me but I'm digging into The Cure's back catalogue a lot after listening to the new album and there's some great stuff in there. To be really honest I always wrote off their stuff as "wishy washy goth pop" but there's a lot more depth there, Disintegration is blowing me away at the moment.

I remember when Disintegration clicked. Was completely obsessed. Unbelievable album.

I only got properly into them the last couple of years thanks to Carnage on here who looked after me big time and I just don't know how I let them get past me for so long. They really do have something that nobody else does and I'm constantly surprised at the extremely high level of quality. They've made their way well into my list of favourite bands and there's hardly ever a time that I wouldn't be in the mood for them.

Give Entreat Plus a go, it's Disintegration played though live back in the day.

Really great, in-depth interview with a delightfully sane and ordinary Robert Smith. He comes off as a good dude.

Got a few dirty looks back in the day at college because of these lads - was doing a presentation, had it stored on my Sony MP3 player (the USB stick variety). Music was kept in the root of the drive, so fired my presentation there too.

Had ten or so albums on it (ah the joys of 1GB storage), so it was easy to scan the list - of course I had The Cure's "Pornography" on it and was asked why I had that (and another folder called "Slowly We Rot"). Whoops

The new album is a bit good though, absolutely did not expect it.

Could be on to something there how one follows the other! Maybe some hardcore lyrics at the least

Tip for those planning on buying that live album, buy from the UK store instead of the EU store. Just pre-ordered it there and the UK store is €7/€8 cheaper - and that's just for the CD.

Straight up cheaper or what happens by the time one gets it?

Tangential but I bought the last Tool cd with the fancy little video box off the US amazon and it was half the price including everything

The latter. The CD itself was €3 or €4 more expensive and shipping started at €11.
