Iron Mountain has been cancelled:

QuoteAnnouncement!
We are sad to announce the cancellation of Iron Mountain Metal Festival.
We find ourselves in unprecedented times and with public health at major risk we had no other option but to cease this event.
This is not the end though! We are moving our launch to May bank holiday weekend 2021.
A three day BYOB event with two stages of top Irish talent.
We have all grown as a team throughout this and while this was unexpected, it gives us more time to build/create and make IMMF our definitive vision!
We'll be back out on the road doing promotional nights and more once things return to normal here.
The road to IMMF continues!
Sometimes the road less traveled takes a little while longer...
We will be seeing you again soon!

Some people really do like to twist things don't they!
We had a few cases at the start of the month and the end of the month was the stopping point.
Then things got worse and we cancelled our promo nights in Dublin/Galway.
We then cancelled as it was obvious and moved IMMF to May bank holiday next year so enough time had passed.
At no point were we going to put people at risk!
We monitored the situation over a three week period and made the correct choice.
Next time maybe ask us about things like this rather than believing someone online that is not a member of the IMMF crew.

Don't get in a strop over every little thing, dear boy. At the time the posts were made, you hadn't announced the event was "officially" cancelled. The point was that an event like this can't go ahead without the bands, regardless of the "official" status of the event. The bands determine whether there is an event or not and bands are not happening for the next few months, let's be honest, so just pointing out the obvious in a rhetorical manner. No knickers need be twisted.

I'm in a similar boat with Desertfest, which is/was due to happen on the same weekend. There's no way it's going to go ahead with the lineup I paid to see, but the organisers have not, as of yet, cancelled or postponed the event which is just silly. We all know it's not happening but there is silence from them. The event is off in every aspect but for the "official" announcement. Do you see what I mean? It's a shit situation for the organisers, no doubt about it, but early clarity for those who have paid for tickets, flights and hotels would also be welcome.

By the way, I think you've done the right thing aiming for 2021. Anyone rescheduling events which involve the mass movement of people over the next few months are being wildly optimistic. Good luck with it.

I think the real Iron Mountain was all the friends we made along the way

I agree completely. Any event this year is taking a massive chance.
We all monitored this and originally thought about moving to August, but with the growing concern the best idea was to move a year ahead.
We're already planning and as the core crew are involved in music as a profession, we're making/building stuff for next year. Seating, lighting etc etc and we have access to a large warehouse that's full of stuff for the last year on Friday before a sale goes through so we can develop the site further which was supposed to be in year six...
All above board! We got full permission.
We have already announced our dates for next year and this has given us more time to deliver the exact vision we want for this event.
All ten of us plus others that were due to work the weekend are pulling in the same direction.
We will be seeing some of you next May bank holiday weekend.
If you see this and speak for the community as yourself.
Sorry!
You're not that special...

See, the last three sentences of the above post is precsisely why people can't be arsed with you 99% of the time. You just can't resist running your fucking stupid mouth. Up until the very last you'd (in that post and for once) come across as organised, communicative and, dare I say it, professional. But no, you couldn't leave it at that, your ego demanded you get your little "fuck da haterz!" bit in.

You've done the right thing cancelling the festival, not that you had a choice. But unfortunately you ended up still coming across as a complete goon.

You were doing so good up to that point.

(quoted for longevity)

Oh, did I hurt your feelings.
Ahhh!
Sorry about that!
Here's your man the fuck up pill.
It says don't be a snowflake!

You just reacted to my bait.
99% of people have an opinion on me?
Ha Ha!
Get your head firmly out of your ass!
I've got my amusement out of you now and will be using this to promote Irish bands. Which is why I joined here..
As I said before about speaking for a community.
You're not that special.
Go over into that corner with the D hat on.
Good lad!

Thats better, when you made a sensible post I'm sure most people thought you were having a stroke. Good to see you back to your normal (incoherent, self-aggrandising and utterly ludicrous) self.

Can we stop referring to music scenes as "communities" please?

haha knew it wouldn't go ahead.
Burning Metal has notions of the whole forum hating him or phil or whoever. When in reality you're just providing them with entertainment with the whole them vs us attitude. If you could lose that little attitude you have maybe people would want to see you do well.....but you burned that metal bridge a long time ago.

What fucking age are you? Because if it's anything more than 14 then you need to seriously cop the fuck on.

Honestly, there's a bit of me that hopes everything you touch turns to shit (which seems to be par for the course anyway) as you're an insufferable and self-entitled areshole of the highest order.
