Danko Jones also on the bill I think. Missed Volbeat last time out so aim to get along. Must be worth their while returning . Was there a decent turnout 2 years ago?

Volbeat, Baroness & Danko Jones also confirmed for Belfast Ulster Hall on the 3rd

Wouldn't mind seeing Baroness, shame they're sandwiched between two travesty's of bands.

My thoughts exactly

Ah balls, I've wanted to see Baroness for years and they finally play here it's opening for fucking Volbeat .

I can't bring myself to pay for a 30/45 max set.

Hopefully it leads to a headline set though, it's baffling actually that they've never headlined here because the likes of Mastodon have always done well here.

Danko Jones are possibly the worst band i have ever seen live.

Would have went to see Baroness no bother if they weren't sandwiched in between those two.  For how short the set would be and the trip to Dublin too, it's not worth it.

Baroness did an Irish tour with Torche in 2006. They were the headliner then.

Add in the fact that you are guaranteed shite sound in The Olympia too. It's a big fat NOPE......

Shit-o-meter at the ready.  :abbath:

The only thing in their favour was that they were supporting guns n roses who were about 7 hours late so I reckon they were told to keep playing.seemed like they ran out of songs and kept playing the same set over and over.

Still gutted that I missed that Cork gig. [R]evolution of a Sun played as well, didn't they? I saw a poster or something for it in the window of FZ a few days after it happened.

I've never listened to Volbeat. I've seen their name mentioned before. I just looked them up;

Quote from: Wikipedia
Volbeat are a Danish rock band formed in Copenhagen in 2001. They play a fusion of rock and roll, heavy metal and rockabilly.

I don't know what to do with this information. My brain can't form an idea of what they sound like but I can't bring myself to listen to them either.

Not familiar with Danko Jones' music either but the frontman... uh.... Danko Jones has a podcast - I only know this because I listened to one a while back where he interviewed Henry Rollins. Jones continually dropped into the conversation that his band could play all the Rollins Band stuff. Hank kept glossing over it and moving the narrative forward until Jones eventually straight-up asked him if he'd be up for doing a tour fronting Danko Jones performing Rollins Band songs, they'd even go under the moniker of Rollins Band.

Rollins, who's normally polite and patient basically asked your man how much longer was the interview because he had other shit to be doing.

Ah, I had heard of the tour they did with Torche, I just assumed Torche were the headliners as Baroness hadn't any full lengths out at the time.
