As a Chelsea fan it's interesting to see our squad in transition, where can we go from here etc some frustrating moments along the way for sure but nothing that's fryed the brain too much the Everton game I was even at prob takes it even though others would prob point to the losses but especially given how much Everton collapsed over Christmas or after that freak winner for Liverpool really, we should not have been dropping points against them at home.

I think Liverpool should win the league particularly if they beat city although keeping Van Djik injury free could be crucial, the standard in it is the worst in a long while and it didn't happen overnight afterall City won it by a considerable distance last year. Watched a streak of games over Christmas not one to get excited about for the neutral really even with an invested interest in Palace Chelsea that stunk the place out. The noteworthy result was Pool against Arsenal but that was no way competitive and seemed no surprise either, watched an unimpressive Man City need a few bits of fortune but deservedly saw off Southampton, Everton go down 1 nil at home to Leicester in a game played out like a pre season friendly. Spurs Cardiff followed a game that was over just after 25 mins (and switched off )

On the otherhand anytime I've tuned into the championship lately I've gotten great entertainment from football, Forest v Leeds yesterday had bags of atmosphere that was missing from the prem game I mentioned I'd watched prior (Everton/Leicester) and was a fantastic game to boot.

Yeah they were certainly in some sort of fucking transition v Southampton there tonight. The ball in transition from left to right in front of 10 men behind the ball. Chelsea really need to change something up front. And not just blaming Morata, either. He gets fuck all good service from anywhere on the pitch. That goal was also not offside. Very frustrating stuff altogether.

Declan Rice.

I'm not going to argue the toss about his decision, he says he is a proud Englishman and fair play to him and all that, but it is really ridiculous that a player can change allegiance like that after turning out for a country. Ireland have loads of foreigners on the team for years and years so we can hardly complain but it is still a stupid setup.

I have absolutely no problem with players switching countries. Having teenagers make a decision on their nationality and forcing them to stick with it for life is ridiculous

Ah come on, did you not know what nationality you were as a teenager?

I wish we could go back to the days of real Irishmen turning out for the team, like Tony Cascarino

I think if you play anywhere from the 21s up to even a senior friendly, that should be that. When you're on the cusp of a full senior call up, by that point it should be too late to switch.

The rules for rugby are even more farcical in a way, but he should have refused the call-up if he had even the slightest doubt. It was only going one way once he said he needed time. Gary Linekers tweets about it in the intervening period wound me up even more than the decision.

Whats the rule in rugby?,is it if youre playing in the country 3 years you can play with the national side?.

Yeah.

Any thoughts on Rodgers leaving Celtic for Leicester?  Could have been immortal if he'd seen the next couple of seasons through, even this one. I have a feeling he may come to regret it.

gone are the days of anyone staying loyal to any club, the money is too vast in the game, plus you can only take a club like Celtic so far in the current era in Europe.

Don't get why they're so pissed off about the whole thing, any half decent manager Celtic get in should be able to stroll to the title

They're headcases. We had one guy at work ranting on how Leicester have done fuck all in Europe compared to Celtic, finally shut up  when it was pointed out that the last time Celtic got as far as Leicester in the Champions League, it was still called the European Cup, and he wouldn't have been born for another fifteen years after that. (1980 - and the only reason they got that far was they barely managed to hang on against Dundalk in the previous round)

How long before United buy Solksjaer out of his Molde contract?
