This might be a good idea. I'll edit this when I think of some. And when there is more than just me here.

I've always been a big fan of "This Binary Universe" by BT. Glitchy ambient electronic. Shame the rest of his stuff is shite!

So many lads like that, 1 good album and a rake of shite to go along with it. I'll check it out once I'm done with this Crosses album..

Just ran through what I have immediately available to me on the work playlist. Yous probably know most of it, but I'd have these spinning daily.

And So I Watch You From Afar - Gangs
Blanck Mass - Dumb Flesh
Drab Majesty - Careless
Friendship - I & II (I'd categorize this as metal myself, but my mates don't)
Have A Nice Life - Deathconsciousness
Ho99o9 - Dead Bodies In The Lake
IDLES - Brutalism
IDLES - Joy As An Act Of Resistance
John Frusciante - To Record Only Water For Ten Days
Nothing - Tired Of Tomorrow
Swans - The Seer
Uniform - Perfect World
Youth Code - A Place To Stand

Had A-Ha's "Scoundrel Days" on regularly over the last few weeks.  Cracking album, always think of it around this time of year too.

Saw these in London last month. Ferocious live, records haven't really done it for me since. I'll not get into the "is grindcore metal" argument here but if we're being sticklers, I'd probably class them as metal.

Jakob's Solace is criminally underated. Check out the track "Oran Mor" for anyone not familiar, hard to believe a lot of what you're hearing is guitar. Very unique.

Don't know how these have passed me by. Listening now and it's right up my alley, so I'll be checking out the rest of them.
Any other recommendations in this posty, transcendent style?

Here I thought of a couple

Wiseblood - Dirtdish (aka Foetus and friends)
Foetus - Love / Flow / Gash and pretty much of all of his albums really. Been listening to an awful lot of his stuff lately.

Team Sleep - Woodstock Sessions. Really great live versions on this. Sort of like what Origin Of The Feces does to Slow, Deep And Hard. But totally different. Drumming is great as well.

Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral / The Fragile. Yes it is old news but you never know when you'd meet someone who hasn't heard them. The Fragile is probably my most listened to album since it was released. I never get sick of it.

And seeing as the lad mentioned A-Ha the first 3 albums are brilliant for anyone into 80s pop.

Thirlwell is the man.

I'm not quite sure I'm following the point of this thread.  Is it a "list albums that metal people like that are still kind of heavy and noisey" thing or just a "randomly list  any music you like" thread?

I had the idea of anything that isn't metal that you would recommend for people to listen to. A bit of "for fans of.." might help. Even though most of the things I listed out are fairly obvious ones and close to metal. I had hoped to hear some new stuff this way. I find a lot of the people who started out on metal diversify a lot over the years and usually not to standard chart music.

The title is quite misleading I presume I can change it. Changed

So it's a general music thread then? Gotcha.

Current rotation for me so
Katie Kim & The Crash Ensemble "Salt Interventions"

Shannon Wright's "Division" album

Jay Jayle "No Trail and other Unholy Paths"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfUDONM0KqI
STCLVR "Hostile Work Environment" (one for fans of old Skinny Puppy)

Lana Del Rabies "Shadow World"

Been listening to the new Lisa O'Neill album a fair bit. Can't decide if I love her voice or fucking hate it. Also been revisiting a chunk of 90s noise rock (Star Pimp, Chokebore, Guzzard, etc)

Some great suggestions, love Chokebore and quite a few off the Amphetamine roster namely Boss Hog, Cows and Helios Creed.

Just gave that a listen purely because the name was ridiculous, that's actually really deadly.  Just found the album on Bandcamp, hopefully the rest of it is in that vein.

Yeah the music was decent in that, right up my street. I'll follow this up and also STCLVR which I really enjoyed. Got an unexpected reminder of Relax by Frankie Goes To Hollywood off it as well
