Completely savage, wild, heavy, violent.  Can remember coming across this soon after release and being blown away that it was just two lads from here.  Regularly still have it on.

Definitely! Was only bigging it up on here recently after an impromptu revisit and have had it on another few times since.

Just stuck it on here now, I forgot how bonkers and fun it is. I remember seeing em in belfast when I was freshly turned 18 and they floored me. Was entranced.

Ground Of Ruin - Cloaked In Doctrine demo is one I always go back to. Pity they never got around to doing a full length.

My favorite Irish album is Archaic Creation by Old Season.

Demo wise these were great, probaly missing a few more but off the top of my head.
Carnun Malkulth.
Primordial -Dark Romanticism.
Geasa Starside.
Prophecy - Pythia.
Mabus 6666 - sick sick sex.
Molde -molde.
Hexxed -transgression

Procession Of Spectres
Overoth
ZOM
For Ruin
The Grief

... all great

Not all metal but all heavy:
I come back to De Novissimis and Wreck of the Hesperus a lot, never gets old.
Drainland get a lot of revisits too, somehow never had And So Our Troubles Began on record so ended up getting it on Discogs last year.

I go back to Slomatics - Kalceanna quite a bit too. I like what they're doing now but the vocals and slightly lo-fi approach of Kalceanna always gets me.

Every few years I revisit Putrefaction, would have loved another album from them.

I go back to My Name is Satan - Refuse to Kneel a lot too. I bought it twice from Discogs after insisting someone take a copy who'd never heard it.

I was going to say that most of these also benefit from nostalgia for the time they came out or the time I first heard them, but I don't think that nostalgia carries the experience at all, they still stand up well.

Side note, you'd get another fine thread from 'Irish bands you wish put out something/put out more' too. There's a few unreleased albums lurking around that I'd love to see get some kind of release.

Yeah, with a couple of exceptions, seems most Irish bands have big gaps between releases, or put out one or two great demos or albums then split up. On the upside I'd say the scene here is definitely quality over quantity

I'd agree with that. Some of what's been mentioned isn't for me but I can acknowledge the quality or the appeal.

The good thing about that though is that they don't outlive their usefulness and end up putting out albums thst dimish in quality. But yeah, with such  tiny scene relatively it's no surprise longevity is rare.

Primordial- The Gathering Wilderness
Myrkr - Rekwiz
Malthusian - Across Deaths

Absolutely brilliant live too.
