Lot of backing tracks in the first place which is par for the course with this kind of thing but AL is cooked - he "sings" over pre-recorded vocal tracks.

He's been pretty open about it to be fair. Reddit is full of threads on it, some people don't care think the show is great and others debate whether it's miming in the strictest sense since he's doing "something" vocally.
