Anyone still in touch with the old MI heads?

Forgive me because I do love a good nostalgia thread...

I was just wondering what a bunch of the old MI heads are up to now that aren't on here. I know there's a bunch of us here now, but quite a few people didn't transfer over, and another group did initially but then fell away quickly.

Reading through some of the MI Hall of Fame threads and seeing the old usernames and avatars got me wondering what a lot of those people are up to now. The likes of Goatlord, H, Bane, Snatchgrabber, Jedifart, etc. Basically anyone who contributed regularly.

Plus some of the hall of fame type subjects themselves like desertfather, eddieapathy, etc. What is Phil from Philfest doing now?

Anyone still in touch with any of the old folk that aren't around on the forums anymore?

He lives. Hes still a contrarian. Play in a band with him. Asked him why he doesnt post on the forums anymore and he said "Forgot it even existed".

Someone posted on here last year that H left because of the deal with MCD. It apparently had something to do with MCD having a shit fit over things that were posted after a show years ago on either boards or MI so they don't want anyone affiliated with them using forums. No idea how true that is as I don't know him personally.

I can't blame people for falling if it wasn't for the gigs section I would probably have dropped off myself. If the music discussion isn't about the Metallicas, Judas Priests, Iron maidens etc or the local scene the thread rarely goes past one page. I get my music discussion from other far more active forums that have good discussion on the more underground bands.

Like I was with MI, I'm delighted this place is going. I'm not active on any other music or other forums. FB is dead to me and never bothered my bollix with Twitter. Here, IMDb and The Journal are where I spend 90% of my online time apart from looking at willies. I mean vaginas.

I'm glad he's still alive and kicking. He probably wouldn't find such easy prey around here these days though, the nonsense factor has definitely decreased
