Crypta - excellent
Sacred Reich - good but not great
Bloodbath - promising start but got dull as fuck
Biohazard - wished Bloodbath would come back. It was like Simon fucking Says, Brooklyn style, yo! Counted 8 "respects" too. Not my thing at all but a lot of the crowd liked it.
Sepultura - very good but not the best I've seen them. Liked that they put three new tunes in the set, great set overall. Was easy enough to tune out the AI stuff, didn't bother me. Filled up nicely for them, too. Enjoyable night overall but the late night fucken drive back to South Tipp is a cunt.

I had wanted to see Crypta and Sacred Reich, but missed everyone except Sepultura.

Funnily enough, as I was wondering why they never hired a second guitarist to boost their live sound after Max left, while also lamenting missing Crypta, their guitarist joined Sepultura on stage for a song. For a moment, I hoped she would stay for the final however many songs.

I thought Sepultura sounded better than when they played the Belfast Telegraph building on their final ever (just joking!) tour.

Edit: Just finding out that Luana Dametto wasn't on drums this tour (temporary for some reason) and they're onto their third lead guitarist. Don't mind that I missed them as much now.

Great night overall, serious bang for buck.

Sacred Reich were great I thought - always was a fan. I even think Awakening is a great record, they were tight and at 40 mins a nice run through the hits.

Jesus Bloodbath really killed the buzz, might work well in a small club but they were lost on the big stage and Nick Holmes as much as I love Paradise Lost is one of metals worst frontmen.

Biohazard got the party started again, just great fun live - great energy.

I thought Sepultura were great, the AI was a little bit shitty but the set was great and they were really tight, I thought the material aired from the EP was really strong too. I actually think a reunion with the two lads wouldn't be as good as that, Max has lost many steps over the years.

It filled out a bit in the end from the time Biohazard hit the stage, and one other perk of the low turnout was the easy access to pints, merch, toilets.

Great to see such a turnout for a lineup like this. One would wonder where the fuck all of these people are when it's not a bands last show. Having seen Sepultura in the TBMC,Tivoli and Academy over the years to much smaller crowds, it's difficult to know how they can then manage to pull a pretty decent showing in the 3 Arena.

Crypta were very good. Not familiar with them but they gave it socks.

Sacred Reich were very good. A shorter set gave Phil no time for his usual yawn inducing speeches. Their new drummer is the business too. Sound for SR was probably the best of any of the bands.

Bloodbath aren't a band I have any albums of and that won't change after last night. Despite it being great to see Nick Holmes make an effort for once, Bloodbath just aren't very good and have no songs. It was all just a wall of boring noise.

Boyohazard brought the RESPECT! They need not have bothered though as I had none to give them in return. Evan remains one of the most annoying metal celebs in existence. I did laugh at Bobby Hambels one signature spin-hop move that he did for the entire set. Had no idea the other fella had morphed into Billy Idol. It is a mystery how these cunts ever got big.

Sepultura were excellent. Their set had pretty poor sound for the headline act and it didn't improve as the night went on either. Great career spanning set though and all played well. Highlights were Desperate Cry, Dead Embryonic Cells and Means To An End.
Greyson doesn't have the same primal attack on the drums as either Igor or Eloy and doesn't utilise his toms in a way I'm used to hearing but he's an excellent drummer.

Overall an entertaining evening. It broke a 3 1/2 year break from going to gigs for me and it was great to see the Brazilian men off into the sunset. I've seen Sepultura live more than any other band and they have never disappointed. I hope they enjoy their retirement.

In a country were metal is arguably the most unpopular genre of music that was a great turnout for Sepultura in the 3 Arena. I was at the signing and many there seemed to have travelled from mainland Europe for the show. The signing was a great last minute surprise, the lads were very friendly and genuinely seemed happy to be there.

I have no interest whatsoever in Cryptia so that was an easy skip. Had planned to see Sacred Reich but pints got in the way. Got in as Bloodbath were starting they were ok but it's just more mainstream Swedish DM that I don't need and will never buy.

Biohazard were great I would have preferred if the set was longer as it took them a song or two to get going.

Sepultura were band of the night for me. It was great to hear two of my favourite songs from the Green era Against and Choke. The AI stuff didn't bother me at all I was just watching the band. I brought a mate along who wouldn't know Sepultura at all and he said it was one the best gigs he has ever been to.

Shame it's the last show as the previous Olympia gig got me right back into a band I had written off years ago. Now we won't at least see this version of them ever again. I don't know how this show came about if it was just luck the way the tour routing went or if Dublin was purposely chosen as the last show either way it's great that we got this gig and fair play to everyone that had a hand in making it happen.

Didn't get to make it in the end myself. A bit surprised to hear that Bloodbath were shite live though. I'm not familiar with the later stuff when Holmes joined but the Akerfeldt era was solid and the Nightmares Made Flesh album with Peter Tagtren on vocals is savage.
