Having participated in at least 15 albums with Max and countless others, I can pretty much predict when it's time to write and record.  I make the schedules for releases and touring, so I just let Max know a couple weeks ahead, to start thinking about his topic, his riffs that will represent his vision, and who he will work with as the architect of his art.  A couple times  he gave me a blank stare...shock?....but usually he just goes with the flow.

The first steps are preparatory...he buys a simple notebook and then looks for a spot in the house to set his gear up at.

Yeah I remarked earlier a low turnout I just meant in terms of the 3Arena and capacity - there was a lot of curtain action, but the floor was healthy and healthy overall I'm sure.

Slayer also had a healthy turnout in the 3 arena for their "farewell" show. FOMO is a big factor.

For a band I've seen in the Top Hat, Academy, TBMC, Tivoli, Ambassador, etc, that was a superb turnout, I thought. It's not a venue were you usually see a band playing that style of music. The most upper seating level wasn't open but, apart from the two outside sections, the seating area where I was was pretty full too.

Absolutely, and you go down the supports and the likes of Sacred are a Whelan's Opium outfit so healthy turnout alright. I was seated myself B to E were full enough but A and G were completely empty, The floor was curtained too. I'd love to see the number but would guess 3.5-4.5K. As I was saying it was a bit novel to be able to wander up to the Merch Stall or for a beer without there being too much of a wait.
