Dunno about that. I went to the release gig which i expected to be jammed to the gills and there were around ten people there. It was a moment of complete disillusionment for me.

Well, I was too young to be attending gigs around that time so I can't speak to that. I didnt hear about em until somewhere between Dark crusade and Cascade and started with Nadir. Was about 15.
But what I can say with certainty that theres musicians I grew up with who'd cite it as a big influence. Was quite inspiring to learn the instruments etc in the shadow of bands like abaddon, mourning beloveth etc. So, to me thats the biggest impact of all!

On that train of thought, one of the aspects of the show at the weekend I loved was seeing some up n coming bands like microtonal and sickened out there kicking ass and honing their craft!

a moment of complete disillusioment for me too hahahah

I'm teaching English in Spain. I always have I will nail you in open in a tab on YouTube and any time my students start acting the bollocks, I hit play. Scares the fucking shit out of them and shuts them up really quickly. It's commonly referred to in the academy as 'the bold song'

I wonder if you had the likes of Relapse behind you, pushing your name, getting you on good tours etc would it have been a different story.

Had a great time at this, the crowd was going pretty crazy for the bands which you love to see. Seems like a thriving community for the heavy stuff in there. I was playing with Trenchknife, which was a blast, the PA nearly got taken out from moshing at one stage but it was all good! Was in from the first band until Congenital Abnormalities but we had to hit to the road then. I'd seen Fraught and Ancient Malice in the last few weeks but would have liked to stick around if I could have.

Was this the line up, and order of bands on the day? I knew four of the bands, but heard some good surprises that day.

A great day!

Thanks for coming along man, your set was lethal. We were blown away we must organise another show together. I specifically remember that exact moment when the PA was teetering! Long auld drive from as well as back to Limerick to be fair.

It's great to hear you enjoyed yourself, glad you could attend. Steve captured the bands and their associated slots there (cheers Steve!).

The venue got the process started with the date, the lineup and the slots, and it all came together from there with everyone pitching in, which I think is why it all went smoothly.
