Seen them a few times back in the day - between the state of the later albums and the prices I'll pass.

€67.20/€72.20/€92.75 (Inc Booking Fee) on sale Thursday 16th October at 10AM from Ticketmaster

Dunno what's madder to me, the venue or that you could pay €100 to see Opeth in Ireland.

Yep, still have my stub for the Shelter In 2001 with Katatonia and November pretty sure it was around 20eur. Both Bands in their prime too. I'll keep that memory.

Aye, more power to them.

What size is the BGT? About 2000, give or take?

Yeah about 2000 or so. And indeed more power to them, it's great to have seeing them increase the crowd size over the years. Just not for me.

I saw them over the summer and they were great, good mix of the setlist, mostly the heavier 2000s stuff with a few tunes off their latest album sprinkled in, think the softer song they played was from Damnation. Would have liked something from Still Life but they played one from Morningrise.

I gave up on the prog era stuff, but really enjoyed the last album, probably head along to this

Is the Bord Gais all seating though?

Yep, it's a bit mad in that respect. Think the last Rock gig I was at there was Incubus - it was a terrible gig anyway but the seating arrangement took away whatever life was left in it.

Last album was good.
Whats the sound like at that venue like for metal gigs?

I thought it was a bit boomy if I'm being honest, it's fine if it's a different type of artist or a musical etc

Ive very little interest in Opeth with a long time, but this could be cool in a venue like that!.

The Shelter gig back in the day was something else!,I still have to tour shirt!

The Presale code for the artist presale is LASTWILL. I got a ticket there now €80 for lower level ticket.

Managed to get a ticket in the third row, was a bit on the fence about going but figured I may as well grab those seats once I saw them

I'm in the 5th row so should have a good view. I've seen Elvis Costello and Suede play there before and the sound was good but first time seeing a metal band playing there.

I've been there 3 times (Dead Can Dance, Kraftwerk and Blade Runner live), once on the middle tier and twice in the gods. Sound was great for all three so I wouldn't expect any issues.

I'd be curious how well it'll work for a metal band, though not curious enough to pay that t8cket price plus accomodation, travel, food/drink etc.
