You could've filed these in the "Couldn't be Bothered" category for me. Loved the early records, loved what they did up until Wiseblood but Arms of God and No Cross were both duds. They've lost Mike Dean, Reed and they play the same stuff every time I go see them. However, the new album is a double, it's certainly piqued my interest. Do they have one more in them?

"Tracking on the new Double Album is finished ! Off to Mix World now. See everybody out on the road in a few short weeks. Check http://coc.com for all the stuff"

I really enjoyed Arms of God, title track is probably one of my favourites from them, but No Cross was pretty much a non event alright

But yeah, this double thing is interesting. Not sure they'll pull it off, hardly any bands do, but I'll definitely have to give it a listen

In The Arms Of God is my favourite COC album by a long way, but the few since have been fairly dull alright.

Arms Of God grew on me and I still quite enjoy it. No Cross No Crown is the prime example of the "couldn't be bothered anymore" thread. At that point they were a band trying to recapture past glories and they failed miserably. Another album of theirs I can't listen to anymore is Volume Dealer. It has such a weird digital/processed sound, albeit a bad one  and it ruins the songs.
I'll check out the new album before I commit to any purchase but I don't have very high hopes for it.

Both Blind and Wiseblood still get regular listens from me. I think both are classics.

'Blind' is a complicated album, this style that style, but overall appealing. I have always thought that it sounded like the perfect album that Metallica might have followed AJFA with. Different bands though.

Animosity/Technocracy are still great.

First track up there now, started in promising fashion but what has happened to Peppers voice? Gone for a toneless shouting roaring style

I couldn't give two fucks about this band post Technoracy anyway, but I saw the video for this new track last night and it did nothing to change that. What's the craic with Woody's explorer in it though?Did Hetfield give him his old "Eet Fuk" guitar? If not it's a bit weird playing a copy of it.

It's a weak offering alright  especially vocally.
I don't know if it's possibly hearing related with some of those old lads but the likes of Keenan, Phil from Sacred Reich and Tom Araya seem content to just bark away on anything new.

The video for this new song is pretty embarrassing. Pepper running like he's trying not to shit his pants by the look of it

It's disappointing. I like everything from the early records right up to Volume Dealer. I guess from the blurb beforehand I was expecting something expansive, Deliverance, Volume Dealer etc whether you like them or not cover a lot of musical ground. This actually sounds like the rubbish albums Mike and Woody made without Keenan

Probably my favourite band. I hope this new album is as good as the old stuff.
