This finally dropped today. I had high hopes after the two singles, but this has surpassed them.
Album of the year material.

I've it lined up for tonight's listening!!!

So much to love about this album, Trinity and Sacrificial Lamb are doing it for me, in particular. It's a Monothiest level comeback.

They've put out a lyric video for Consequence. The vocoder, just beautiful, but the way it comes back in from the quiet section... jaysus, lads, I put it to you   :abbath:

A band I was well aware of but never properly explored.Fixing that now!

Been drinking this whenever I can since it released, and it's honestly one of their best. Absolutely one of the greatest comebacks on the go.

It still has to sink in (and I have not even bought a physical copy yet), but it is far better than Grin (thankfully) and seems to be a very good album, but perhaps not a classic. Still a great comeback album, though!

It took several listens to really settle for me, but I've generally had it on repeat and there have been moments where I thought it might be the greatest thing they've ever done. I'm not sure, perhaps it's the glut of tired soundalike shite which has usually been the hallmark of most old-band-new-albums over the last 20 years which makes it stand out as a truly notable achievement, but I'm definitely in the "love it" camp. There's more than enough deviation from the past to justify its existence and what new avenues they've followed, they've done it extremely tastefully while still being unmistakably Coroner. I could listen to Tommy solo all day long, so the generally shorter solo sections are very welcome when they come. There's no shortage of great riffs but the songs have got a lot of depth beyond basic riffage.

We are richer for having it.

Also, Grin is fucking class  :abbath:

Agreed on most of the old bands doing things by the numbers, especially when it gets to the second album after the comeback.

I will give the Coroner album another few listens and hopefully it will click even more than it has.

We'll have to disagree on Grin (like Spheres and a couple of other albums from that time, it is always a case of loving or hating them, with few falling between those poles).

Enjoying the new album.
Reminds me of Gojira and Opeth in parts.
Some great solo's too.

I've had it on repeat, just a quality album overall. Baron's solo's are amazing. I've also gone back to Grin which I enjoyed more than at the time.

Ive pretty much had Mental vortex spinning most days the last few weeks!.Criminal that i ignored this band for my whole metal life!😅

One of my all-time favourite albums, possibly the very top one. Sublime.

I went to the album launch gig in Zurich last weekend, the new stuff came across fucking deadly live, they played four songs from it. They've reintroduced more songs from Mental Vortex and No More Colour to the set, eased off on Grin a bit. I'd fucking love to see them play here, eventually.

Playing here would go down very well indeed I'd imagine. Vortex is class always loved the album cover.
