Just listening to this now - Pat is Rich Walker's cousin, right? He refers to Patrick from Solstice, but no mention of the familial connection, so I'm guessing there was a blaze of glory fallout 

Edit: He later clarifies they're not related, that's a commonly-held myth. I've always thought that to be true.

I enjoyed the interview but I felt the interviewer sometimes cut Patrick off halfway through a response. He is a quiet and thoughtful person and I had the impression he likes to think about what he's going to say next so on a few occasions he should have been given a little more space to gather his thoughts. I would love to hear him go into detail about his lyrics, but he remains tight lipped on the front, but overall, I enjoyed it. His enthusiasm for classic doom is palpable, which was nice to see. I'm glad he didn't just go, oh yeah, I was into all that when I was a kid but I'm awfully grown up now and only listen to singer songwriters!

It was a pretty good interview but he was definitely hesitant to give anything personal away, he seems like a hard man to interview. The word association with British food was a bit random and awkward. I was most surprised to hear he's 6ft6! He mentioned he has 3 songs in the bag for another release too which is cool. I must give 40 watt sun a go again, I hated it when it came out.

The gig they played in Dublin in 2007, the night after the London ULU gig wasn't exactly bursting at the seams if my memory serves. Might be another story in 2026...

I like the new record well enough but it's definitely not one for lashing on at a barbecue in this weather.

I saw Warning a few months ago a festival in Belgium. They were one of the most hotly anticipated acts at the thing - gauging this on talking to other people at the same fest. Mike Scheidt even cut YOB's headlining set short and encouraged people to go see Warning who were playing the mid-size stage indoors right after his band finished on the main stage.

Rarely have I seen such heightened anticipation turn to boredom and on to frustration at a gig. The room was fairly well packed at the beginning - but was less than halfway full by the midpoint to being just die-hards/stragglers at the end.

I don't know what it was - maybe people were expecting something different - the set was mainly plucked from "Watching From A Distance" so they were playing familiar material.

I knew what I was getting into - it was my first time seeing Warning live but I have watched enough videos to know to not expect David Lee Roth levels of energy. Or any energy.    I thought that they were good - wasn't blown away and would have preferred two more songs out of YOB in hindsight.

Maybe folks were tired/pissed - whatever it was, it felt an odd reception to a band who had started the day being spoken about in a semi-mythical fashion.

I can't fathom the UK tour. Assuming they're all based in England already, there's not much travel involved for them, but somehow they've opted to book a Sunday to Thurs in December.

After repeated listens, I have to say it is a great album.  I would be tempted to see them live, I'd assume it would be a great aural if not visual experience!
