And the song title itself didn't set off any alarm bells?

The penny may have dropped alright had I known the song title at that age of 9 or 10.

Metallica's fuel starts with turn on I see red but it sounds like "turd on icy rail",you won't unhear that every time you listen to it

Definitely thought the chorus (which crops up at 27 seconds in for the first time) was just him going "ooooh  and  aaaaah!" for an embarassingly long time before reading the lyrics and realising he's saying "oaken heart"

Is Bolzer still a thing incidentally?

Fully cogniscent of that Iron Maiden's song is called "Fear of the Dark", doesn't stop me hearing "fear of the duck" every time.

Bölzer recently finished recording a new album.

So...never?  :P

Always sounded like Gimme foo, gimme fah, gimme dah bee dah bee dah to me

I always thought Varg was singing "I wonder why life must be a life that lasts in Germany" in Beholding the Daughters of the Firmament.

Opening line of "Gum, meet Mother" by Virus: "Ya, I've a farmer's tan"

Fist few times I heard Manowar - Manowar I thought he sang "So we call on Protestants" in the second verse.

Always thought it was 'I'm thinking of good vibrations' turns out it's 'picking up...'

"My lovers got no money, he's got his trumba leaves"

I thought it was a trombeleese.

, neither of which make the remotest bit of sense.

Jesus lad, how have you gotten this far in life without a trombeleese? I'd be lost without mine.
