Maiden are brutal with that stuff if anyones ever read run to the hills.

I'd say Nicko got a soft exit because of his years of service but I reckon that decision was made for him

I wonder if he'll be allowed ride in the limo with the rest of the band.

The bit from Ron Smallwood seemed very business like, almost like thanking someone for working in a company for all those years.
Sure I've no idea what it's like behind the scenes but he seems like a cunt.
What am I basing it on? Nothing.
Out of all of them Nicko and Dave seem the ones who could be the most down to earth .

You were correct sir.  :)

Yeah, I'd say he was politely asked to leave. I'm no expert but I seen commentary on Maiden gigs since his stroke that he wasn't as good as previously, an Maiden being such a successful band and 100% professional in every way just couldn't take the risk of "carrying someone" on their live performances. It's sad but everyone has their time, and I don't think anyone who bought a Malahide ticket will be asking for their money back because Nicko is not there.

I wish I was as lucky when I do the Lotto.

He's definitely a complete wanker,  just even by the stuff I read about Derek Riggs ending his relationship with them.

The way they fucked out Adrian Smith back in the day was crazy. The guy seemed to be just gathering his thoughts after a few hectic tour cycles but they made the decision for him.

You have to give Nicko his due for (last year) coming out on tour at 71 years of age, 6 months after a stroke, and trying to knock out Caught Somewhere In Time every night.

exactly, nothing but respect for the man and the music he's made over the years. Fair play to him, obviously not easy to just stop being in one of the biggest bands ever.

Something about Harris' control freakery really rubs me the wrong way. But I guess it works. He reminds me of a chancer wedding band leader...getting his nephew in to cover the gigs. "Shouldn't we try him out, play a few tunes and have a pint? It was 42 years after all. What about feel and personality and..."
"He'll be fine, get in the van Adrian"

Yeah sad to see Nicko done but it's the right time. I can't expect the band to be able to keep going for many more years in reality.

Also Maiden have always been known to be cold and harsh when it comes down to business. It definitely helped in the early days when they were making a name for themselves and establishing the band as a top act but there's no need for Harris to be so cut throat and involved in every little thing for the last 20 years. Smallwood is also to blame.

I don't think it works. Same noodly shite intro/outros that add 15 unwanted minutes per album, same shite idea that they're a prog band, same shite production on every single album since BNW. For one of the biggest heavy metal bands on the planet (that features three guitarists to boot), they've got one of the worst guitar tones going.

Maiden has been little more than a marketing platform since AMoLaD. Fuck Harris.
