Nicko is giving me Old Gill from the Simpsons vibes with that photo - "Come on guys, I really need this one!"

Ah ha ha. He's some man to be fair though.

He's surely got enough tucked away at this stage in his life to just retire and play golf or something.

What are these evening with shows actually like? Is it the fella doing a live interview, or just reading bits of his book and a bit of q&a?

Will read the book or listen to the audible (as it's read by Nicko) but have no interest in these book tours personally. Feel like not long ago these happened and were free now they're €45 and there's a presale.

Nicko very charismatic though and a storyteller so I'm sure it'll be good, just wouldn't be bothered heading into town for it.

Assuming it's the same format as Bruce's book tour it's a one man show. Expand on a few stories from or related to the book with a few photos on a projector, then there's an interval and the second half is pretty much reading out and answering audience submitted questions.

Didn't see maidens set but watching a bit of the Blaze show on YouTube there - pretty sound of Maiden to have him there to celebrate those albums. Steve Harris watched the whole thing from side stage.

One of the few situations I can think of where everyone has remained on decent terms after a split. Anthrax could take a note or two here, Bruce has no problem singing Blaze material

Yes that was a class move.

Would love to have been there, great line up.

The Knebworth show was good although Bruce was struggling with a cold/flu of some sort and about halfway through the set his voice went. He coped alright for most songs but Run To The Hills required the crowd to help out on the chorus and The Trooper was... not great. Recovered somewhat for the encore which was fine, although Aces High should really be dropped as even when 100% fit Bruce struggles with that song in particular.

I thnk the London show I saw last year was better overall but yesterday had some decent energy to it. Seeing Infinite Dreams played live at last was a major highlight, all the Powerslave songs (apart from Aces High) sounded fantastic, and the Seventh Son title track sounded particularly heavy and brutal. I think the band were pushing it a lot as at times things got slightly ragged although not hugely so.

The support acts were all good - I didn't see The Almighty but Airbourne were fantastic, The Hu (Mongolian folk metal band) were good and The Darkness (who I hadn't seen live since 2003) were entertaining - Justin Hawkins has his own distinctive character as a frontman.

Only complaints were the weather (30 degrees all day) and the somewhat shambolic nature of accessing Knebworth; traffic was so bad that we gave up the idea of using the shuttle bus/taxis and walked to and from the site from Stevenage station (3 miles each way).

Good day out, though.

I heard reports of people missing the show cause of traffic which is bad craic.
I was there for sonisphere 14 and drove there each day and was fine.
