Have listened to a lot of Tangerine Dream in the past, so am intrigued by the sound of this.

Paul Riedl's solo synth stuff is worth checking out too.

Must have a look.  Thank you.

Just saw they've been announced for Incineration Fest next year playing the new album in full

The promo has me a little excited for this one, ned to be in the right mood for the ambient stuff though

It's either going to be a high quality DM release that will satisfy most of our expectations.Or it will be overloadrd with ambient shite and this is where BI die for most of us!

This band has never done it for me, what's the best release in terms of DM and not soundscape/proggy/alien porno music?

There's only been 2 full albums and 2 12"s, if they didn't do it for you then you probably just don't like em.

Maybe the first ep (interdimensional extinction), but like if you didn't like Starspawn you won't like that either I'd say..don't really think the ambient really becomes a thing til side 2 of Hidden History though really..

If you just want  BI type stuff without ambient bits just try one of the many knock off bands out there, Cavern Womb being the best of the bunch probably. Or just listen to Timeghoul!

Thank you. I see the second one as Time Gowl though.

I was steugglingg to think of their name at a gig one night years ago after a few too many, and referred to them as Space Ghost

The Cavern Womb stuff is brilliant. Thanks for that recommendation.

No bother, that's what the forum is for! Faceless Burial and Perilaxe Occlusion should be on your radar too. If youre after that kind of classic Roadrunner era USDM side of things that they do I'd give Mortuous, Apparition (US) and Phobophilic a go as well, none have the sci-fi thing going on

I'm familiar with the names and will go through them.
There are quite a few bands called Apparition it seems.
I think sometimes I want repeats of the first Deicide and Covenant.
Having said that the Phobophilic has the right amount of everything for me.

The US one on Profound Lore is the one I'm referring to.Very underated/overlooked band, considerably better than a lot of the current tedious flood of USDM.
I don't actually care for Phobophilic , but they're very much influenced by the more straight up BI stuff. They even look like them.

Anyway, yeah, high expectations for this, been with BI since the start (I must dust off the tapes), and I like the fact they clearly will continue to do whatever the fuck they want. Felt like they got the blend of non metal elements just right on that recent 12", and I suspect this lp will be a strong continuation of that. Definitely wont be Timewave Zero pt 2 anyway.
