It is but (from what I've read of it so far) it should be worth the wait.

Ordered collection no. 1 there, might as well start again. Only €8 and change, not bad.

Any 2000AD readers over the past few years might be interested to know there's now an animated prequel to Absalom.

Bit late to the party but found a bunch of comics I got as a teen about 10 or so years ago recently and have been flicking through them.

Mostly Batman stuff, but I had forgotten how good some of it is, reading Frank Millers Batman Year One at the moment.

Must have a look into some of the 2000ad stuff talked about in this thread.

Batman: A Death in the Family (1988)

Enjoying this, a bit different and quite violent. Trying to read different takes on Batman, not just the Miller or Morrison stuff.

Got the complete Paper Girl book. Absolutely fantastic by Brian Vaughan who hasn't disappointed with anything of his ive read.

Just seen Ian Gibson, artist of 2000ad/Judge Dredd has passed away, must really do a proper dive into the classic Judge Dredd stuff.

I finally got around to finishing Alan Moore's run on Swamp Thing the other night, last volume gets into some pretty esoteric stuff but all in all the entire run is amazing, all in all I'd probably rate it higher than Watchmen/V for Vendetta tbh.

Also picked up a big omnibus of Frank Miller's Daredevil, starts a bit shakey as he was only the artist at first but it really picks up once he takes over writing.

Saw that, it's a shame. His style took a bit of getting used to but once you adjusted it was class. The Ballad Of Halo Jones was amazing. Speaking of Alan Moore, I think Gibson did Skizz too?.

Speaking of Frank Miller, recently got 'Year One' (Batman) having never read it and how amazing it was, wish it were a little longer! Now awaiting his 'Daredevil' run in the post.

Also, any fans of Constantine here? starting to read it (got two comps) and man is it weird stuff but good, some of those comps on amazon though.. pricey!

Quote from: Carnage on July 12, 2022, 10:40:45 AMThe Best Of 2000AD in the late '80s/early '90s was great for collecting those strips, I still have a pile of them in the attic.

I picked up the first two books of Sláine: The Horned God when they came out (having read them in the weekly comic, obviously) but missed out on the third one. The new reprints are shamefully small.
Haven't read any Slaine but saw this and had a search in the forum, 2000ad have just released an anniversary edition of The Horned God, reprinted at the size of the original art apparently, might pick it up myself.

I saw that alright, cheers. It's on my list, it'd be nice to have it in full size, the reprints that have come out have all been too small to appreciate the artwork. My birthday's coming up so I might drop a hint.

Picked up the Slaine. Paperback, the Deluxe 3 book hardback set was over €100 in Forbidden Planet. It's a glorious reprint. The art is a lot more vibrant and clear then the previous version. It's huge though !

I've been dropping all the hints at herself about this.
Looks absolutely gorgeous.
There's a class Steve Dillon collection too.

I bought the first 10 TPBs of Saga a while back, just getting to them now (I'd read a lot of it years ago but had forgotten most of it). I'm into vol. 5 at the moment, it's just so bloody weird and good. Vol. 11 is out now so I must pick that up too.

It's a great series, I'm up to 10 myself. Certainly fucked up in places but I'm loving it and looking forward to seeing where it's going.
