Saw Jerusalem on Waterstone's bookshelves a few months ago. Was tempted alright, but it was still 15 squid. One day maybe.

I'm not a reader of comics but I have been looking out for a copy of Jerusalem by Alan Moore as I think he's a fascinating, hilarious and intelligent character. Has it actually been released yet? Has anyone here read it?
Read it and love it. It is a straight novel with about 3 illustrations in it. It's a monster of a book but I'm guessing you may currently have some spare time on your hands

Fifteen bills sounds ok to me. I'll try book depository on payday. Cheers!

Has he got any other non- comic literature?

He has one more, Voice of the Fire. I just read it earlier this year. In hindsight, I read them in the wrong order, Voice of the Fire is almost like a taste of what is to come in Jerusalem. The bad news - its out of print. I had to hunt one down on ebay. Voice is good but Jerusalem is his magnum opus. Should say, its not necessary to read one to follow the other.

Cool.  Thanks for the info.  I'll grab Jerusalem first and take it from there.

Just ordered doom patrol from random scrolling. Read a lot of hellblazer, luicifer  and justice league dark over the years and a fair few batmans. Sandman set as well and some of moore's stuff.
Play the Academy July 13th

Haven't been able to pick up 2000AD for a few weeks now because the newsagents decided they were part of the shutdown, really hoping they'll be able to get the backorders in when it finally lifts.
Finally got hold of the Battle Angel Alita Deluxe box set though. Postman wasn't too impressed with the weight of it, though.

Ressurecting this because surely at least one of you must be reading Ed Piskor's gorefest "Red Room" at the moment and I'd like recommendations in a similar vein please.

Looking through my 2000AD collection recently  and decided to re-read 'Missionary Man' ('2000AD presents') as well as 'Future Shocks' (featuring early work from Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman, and Grant Morrison). A re-read of 'Rogue Trooper' (1st collection) is on the cards too.  Speaking of collecting 2000AD, would love to get some 'Ace Trucking Co.' at some point, prices though.

I just missed some second hand Slaine stuff in the comic shop round the corner from me here the other day, sickener. I keep meaning to go back to the old 2000ad strips, devoured them as a child (they had a "school library" in primary school which had a couple of annuals!) but have only really gone bacl to "Nemesis" and some of the Dredd stuff as an adult.

The Best Of 2000AD in the late '80s/early '90s was great for collecting those strips, I still have a pile of them in the attic.

I picked up the first two books of Sláine: The Horned God when they came out (having read them in the weekly comic, obviously) but missed out on the third one. The new reprints are shamefully small.

The newest collection of "Saga" is (finally) out - just ordered it, one of those rare series that doesn't falter much.

Is that the final part or us it ongoing? I got up to date a few years ago and then kinda forgot about it.

From memory - this is the first collection of what Vaughn & Staples said will bring the series to a conclusion, that it would be about as long again by the time that they were done.

I completely forgot about it too until Amazon sent a mail saying that it was out this month. I think that the last trade paperback collection (Vol.9) was released sometime in late 2018. A long time to expect people to wait.
