Just started to get to know Irish bands around that time, remember lads hitting these shows, was to young myself.Tried to get Nancys for Morphosis later that year,no joy!,about 20 of us stopped,no underage!.A great venue, tragic the roof got ripped off it in the 2000s.

94 would have been a few years before my gig-going age but so many great memories of Nancy's over the years. I'm out of Cork at least 15 years now so can't really attest to the live scene these days, but those really were great times...Nancy's, Sir Henry's, and a bit later the Cruiscin and even the odd few gigs in the Savoy.

Fucking hell. Congratulations to me, that was the first gig I ever played. Also the first time I ever drank.

I feel old.

Some of the footage of gigs in there around 1990/91 look insane!.Some big bands played there over the years,Obituary,Paradise Lost,Vader, Behemoth,Godflesh to name a few.I remember first hearing Obituary, cause of Death, and older lads telling me they played Cork a few years previous, blew my mind at the time!.

I was at that Fifth Dominion / Primordial gig - I don't think Primordial had signed to Candlelight at that stage, but after doing so came back for a headline slot?

Paradise Lost (Gothic tour) was epic; Behemoth (good few years later) also. My most profound metal regret though was not going to Obituary in Nancy's touring Cause of Death - I was only just getting into death metal at the time and while I liked Death, Obituary was too slow for my liking so skipped the gig. What a fucking fool!

Friendly Snare, his distro. I bought a few bits off him back in the day. Himself and Scobes were underground metal mecca back then (and I don't think I ever sent the stamps back!).
