Some folks can't stand him for either his politics, his placing as a guitar hero or he's taken the place of Dee "I stood up to the pmrc" Snider  when asked to give his opinion on metal for the normies.

I think his rewriting of history annoys people too. He claims that he never had a guitar lesson in his life, but Michael Angelo Batio was teaching him for ages. There's even a video of an early Rage show with Morello doing the over/under hand technique. Why lie about that stuff and not give MAB the credit?

I couldn't care an iota about Tom Morello, but a quick Google shows that MAB story is nonsense.

He's definitely mentioned Batio as teaching him how to shred when he was a young fella.

Got it slightly wrong, he said he had one lesson with him. Theres also this video of him doing MABs signature technique which I sincerely doubt he learned in a single lesson

Lads, you don't need lessons from MAB to do that over/under thing, and it has probably been attempted by most lead guitarists who have seen it.

Everything he says about other bands sounds like something that came from a PR company. Even his KISS induction from the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame was embarrassingly hyperbolic and cliched to the point it makes Paul Stanley's stage raps look reserved and profound. And I say that as a huge KISS mark.

And that whole thing where he tried to smear a restaurant as "anti worker" when he couldn't get in - and get a special room for him and his crew no less - revealed what an entitled tosser he is. Just another rock star douchebag, who loves the whole celebrity status thing, despite his "workers of the world unite" posturing.

He smacks of self importance and insincerity IMO, and he is the very definition of cringeworthy.

Plus he looks like a cunt.

Oh, and his music is largely a load of old bollocks. So there is that.

Rage have zero credentials. Love the records for sure, they are a good band if of their time but we're all grown up now you can drop the shtick

Seen them in the 3 arena around 2010 - great show but they lost me when they said we "the working class" have to unite against the rich. They were rumoured to be getting half a million for that show, that's without a t shirt sale.

I saw them in Feile 94, that's a bit mad isn't it Ted

Same! And they were fantastic!
But as said previously... Of their time.

They've been peddling their glory days for far too long now.
Make some new music to see if they've still got what it takes.
Either put up, or shut up.

Was mad about them as a kid but they are a laughable bunch of hypocrites. Tickets were 60e and shirts about 35e while he spouts about conglomerates. Shut up. The gig was great though 😄

Ahh its no different to bands singing about being in league with the devil and still goin to mass...or something.

Saw them in the Tivoli in 93, I think it was. Their t-shirts were notably more expensive than average back then, too, the hoors

"Fuck them they won't do what they're telling me! Fuck them they won't do what they're telling me!"

Did Rage against the machine support Anthrax the other night , what's going on
