Sounds like something you'd hear in Tower Records.

It's quite moving, actually. I feel it has really opened up my eyes.

More bizarre than hilarious but...yeah, Robert Fripp and Toyah doing Paranoid.

I only found out recently that they were married. Bastard, she was one of my first crushes.

Prompted by the Cork scene article I checked out God Alone.

Woeful video, despite whatever youthful post modern pretensions they think they have. The lad clapping along is gas!

Musically it raises an eyebrow on first listen but ultimately can there be anything more headache inducing than progressive hardcore?

I definitely don't think that video warrants being in this thread.

The video ain't the most exciting and I can forgive the young lad clapping as he looks about twelve. The music is decent for what it is, if not exactly the kind of stuff I'm into these days. It reminds me of the late 90s and early 00s with the likes of DEP and Converge mixed with the post-rock/ hardcore stuff that was big at that time.

I think they're great at what they do but it's just not my thing. Certainly not something that would have me cringing or folded over laughing. They do come across as pretentious in how they present themselves but doesn't every band to people outside of their scene?

Not my thing either but they're giving it a go so good on them. Bear in mind that they're only gasĂșns, I think they're all mid-teens?

Is the lad clapping his hands not meant to be absurd, like the guy doing Saturday Night Fever after??

Teens created some of the best death/thrash of the 80s and black metal of the 90s. Eg Enslaved 'Vikingligr Veldi' a masterpiece in any man's language composed by a boy of about 14/15,  similarly Emporer 'wrath of the tyrant' by a 16 year old Ihsahn. Dissection, Thunderbolt (Pol) etc etc there's hundreds of them.

That God Awful video I watched was down right embarrassing, redeemed somewhat by what I presume is unintentional humour. As Mclove suggests the music itself is reminiscent of 20 years ago metallic hardcore. Jaysus like.

But the pretentious video is gas and that's why I put them in this thread. And seeing as it's not in the slightest bit metal sounding I don't know why yer all falling over yourselves with the 'good but not my thing' craic.

Lamb of the divine 🙄

Oh aye I'm sure he is man.

Pure youthful pretentious bollocks to my eyes.
