Boring as fuck song set to a garbage AI video. No thanks.

Was listening to Forbidden Evil yesterday, and then stuck on that song... it didn't grip me at all.

Fairly generic song, sounds like he gave up on imitating Anderson's vocal style halfway through. That video is godawful though.

Yeah, disappointing. Maybe not Dark Angel Disappointing but fairly bad. Omega Wave for me is still a great record - this doesn't inspire at all.

Yeah, first bit I thought he's an absolute ringer for Anderson but shifts away from it the longer it goes on. Grand enough song, nice solo

Was about to say there's some very Voivodesque riffing in there, then I looked up the current line up and lo behold, Dan Mongrainnhas joined. I had no idea.

Chris Kontos is out of the band, it seems...

*FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*

*STATEMENT FROM CHRIS KONTOS REGARDING DEPARTURE FROM FORBIDDEN*

This does not come easy for me. I have been trying to not have to do this and resolve many issues with Forbidden for quite some time now. I have expressed my concerns to the band members as well as our management, the legal team and accounting.  Financial integrity, a lack of transparency of accounting, ongoing business decisions I did not agree with, or was not made aware of or told about till after the fact resulting in conflicts with the band. These issues have become irreconcilable. I have decided that I can no longer continue as a part of the band.

I am stepping down as the drummer for Forbidden effective immediately.  I wish the band all the best moving forward.

I am incredibly proud of the music we created together including the new album and videos. I have never worked harder on a project in my life. I put my heart and soul into every bit of the work.  I'm truly grateful to the fans for nearly four years of incredible support.

I want to thank BLKIIBLK Records as well as everyone that helped the band over my time in Forbidden. This includes past band members, road crew, sound engineers, tour management, production companies and promoters. I'm very grateful and have a ton of appreciation and gratitude for you all. You know who you are. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I'm looking forward to what life has to offer moving forward. New opportunities and adventures.

I respectfully ask for privacy at this time and will have no further comment.

Thank you to everyone for your ongoing support.

-Chris Kontos

Dissappointed to see this.

Also seems messy. They never seem to be able to hold on to a stable line up.

The band then posted saying the first time they heard he was living was with this public post. Messy indeed..

Thought the new album was very enjoyable, not just your run of the mill thrash, obviously the vocals always made Forbidden one of the more unique bands - but I thought this was a great modern effort.

I really do wonder what the score with Chris Kontos is, he's an immensely talented drummer - played in Testament, Exodus, Forbidden, Death Angel, a load of hardcore/punk and obviously the first Machine Head album - but he's never really come across as a "professional drummer" - like 2 albums of note in 30 years. How's he getting his time in and paying he bills?! I love his limited body of work, but kinda get the impression he's a nightmare to work with.

He didn't last long with Konkhra either.

He's the common denominator in all those short spells with bands obviously, but this version of Forbidden seems to be the guitarist and bassist plus hired hands so I'd imagine a dictatorial element would be present, along with (from the sound of it) a financial set up that might not suit everyboday involved.

He's not the first member of the reunited line up to leave either, they're on their second 'second' guitarist.
