Went to see Blood On Satan's Claw in the Ifi earlier. Pretty sure I've seen it before but didn't remember fuck all of it. Grand but very hammy.

Had to stick on The Lamp of Thoth afterwards. Obviously the song named after the movie but also the first line of the second tune 'you wear the mark of the devil'. Didn't remember the drums being that boring but great album.

I had never seen Gremlins, somehow. I now have. Was expecting better.

Gremlins 2 is better

Gremlins is flawless. There's a lovely mean streak in it and incredibly well made.

The sequel is amazing, Dante just getting away with absolutely every feckin' gimmick he can think off on Warners dime while taking the piss out of them as they made a load of money off the first one and thought Spielberg was still involved.

Just watched Gremlins 2 there now. Def the superior film. Glad to have gone by my hunch that too much of it would go over a 7 year old's head too!

In the Mouth of Madness

Ducked out of Dude Bro Party Massacre III after 12 minutes and watched Wes Craven's New Nightmare instead. Better than I was expecting, in this case! And also made for a great, unintentional, thematic double-bill with In the Mouth of Madness.

Psycho 2 (1983) dvd

Set 20 + yrs after the events of the original 'Psycho'. If you haven't seen it do it, it's great.

Psycho 3 up next, prob not as good.

Psycho 3 is really good. There's a bit of 80s sleaze to it and Perkins is great as usual. IV is worth a watch, it was made for cable but it's good fun.

Conquest (1983). Strangely, inexplicably even, good spaghetti swords & sorcery movie (is that a genre?)
