Smokey and the Bandit

Hadn't seen this since childhood and forgot how enjoyable it is. The whole cast are just hugely likeable, and look like they're having a lot of fun making it. It also got me into Jerry Reed as a side-bonus.

Kids called our cat Bandit as he was a Siamese (looked like he had a ski mask and black gloves), so when we found a cat earlier in the year we called her Smokey of course...

Anyway we watched The Sheep Detectives last night and really enjoyed it. Some cast behind that in fairness. We wanted to hear more of "Roy Kent" from Ted Lasso voicing the ram twins, but it was great hearing plenty of Chris O'Dowd on it.

Ha, we had cats called Smokey and Bandit too! Great film, a longtime favourite for me. The sequels are shite though, particularly the third one. Reynolds isn't even in it, Jerry Reed is the lead if memory serves.

The parents had this taped off the telly when I was a child so must ahve watched it 20 times. Watched it again a couple years back and still class

This weekend:

Super Mario Bros Movie = crap
Nine to Five = good
The Sheep Detectives = entertaining
Tetris = also entertaining (fuck all in it about the creation of the game though: I'm sure there were things to be said about selling a Russian aesthetic, visual and sonic, to a global market during that era)

Went to see The End of Oak Street. Pure chewing gum for the eyes but a much more enjoyable dinosaur flick than the last few Jurassic World movies.

Went to see The Odyssey again, this time able to take it purely on its own terms. Powerful stuff in fairness, a great cinema experience.

Went to new Spiderman. Thought it was grand, the effects are pretty cool to be fair. I rewatched Swiss Army Man with herself as she hadn't seen it. Love it, such a weird, dark funny movie. Highly recommend to anyone who hasn't seen it

Swiss Army Man is the one with Harry Potter in it?

Not just Harry Potter, also Harry Peeler, Harry Tweezers, Harry Big-blade, Harry Small-blade, Harry Tiny-saw, Harry Screwdriver, Harry Corkscrew, Harry Nail-scissors,, Harry Toothpick...

Crawlspace. Klaus Kinski playing an Nazi with an apartment complex set up for murder. Daft as a brush but great craic.
Neurosis got the sample for Raze The Stray from it too.

correct. It's really worth the watch

Yeah, I saw it years ago and really liked it. Mental stuff

I don't know if he'll ever succeed in separating himself from being Harry Potter, but fair play to Radcliffe for going out of his way to do off-the-wall unexpected stuff and keep on acting, like the Weird Al film too. Compared to Frodo Baggins, for example, whose best post LotR work has been voice acting.
