I enjoyed Legends. That said, I'm also persevering with From...

Legends was enjoyable, just also quite poor

Been watching the new seasons of both Euphoria and The Boys.

Euphoria is dark as fuck, and also quite the departure from the first two seasons. It's went from a high school drama to a Coen Brothers movie. You could almost watch it without having seen the first two seasons and pick up the important bits you need to know from context clues very quickly.

The Boys is always entertaining, though I'd say this season might be the weakest one so far. I enjoyed it more when it was about a 'real life' look at superheroes and how they're more interested in their social media following than actually saving anyone. Fair play to them though, they've fully leaned into the topical stuff this go around and are absolutely savaging MAGA. Not that the MAGA folk would realize that of course.

Euphoria is definitely trash tv. But it's shot on 35mm film which makes a hell of a difference compared to everything else.

The Taylor Sheridan AI script joke might be the best gag in The Boys this season, but Starr aside it's background telly.

Herself has been wanting to watch Euphoria for ages, so we went through the first season a couple months back and are now on S3 week by week. It's grand, or rather uneven, sometimes great, sometimes unbearably cringe. Amazing cinematography throughout though, and well beyond just the 35mm consideration. Also, Zendaya, in the first two seasons anyway, performs a blinder. Will be rewatching her performance in Dune through a different lens (35mm?  :D ) next time.

Just finished The Boys. Not a great season but that's probably because real life events have overtaken the absurdity of the show.

It was funny how much of them mirrored real life almost in real time. Trump posting that AI pic of himself as Jesus the same week the whole 'Homelander is god' storyline started couldn't have been anymore perfectly timed.

But yes, we're definitely in a post-satire era!

I watched episode one of Radioactive Emergency, a Brazilian mini- series documenting something that might be ever so subtly hinted at in the imaginative title, which occurred in the 80s in one of the cities that isn't Rio. Fucked if I can remeber the name. Gripping first episode.

Edit: Goiânia is the name of the city.

Post satire is the best description of things I've heard in a while. Ah well

I've hardly any time for watching things these days because of life etc but with the only hour I've set aside for watching TV stuff this week (I make way more time for films) I looked at another episode of From.

Is there anything that ye are watching lads that would suit a fella that can only spare about 2 hours a week for a series and pays off

Also, Winning Streak.

If post apocalypse stuff is your bag, I'd recommend Paradise. 2 seasons (20eps) out and one more season to come. More political than Fallout, which is also great in that type of world.

Watched the first episode of 'Half-Man', the new series from the lad who made Baby Reindeer.

Seems like it's going to be another extremely fucked up affair.
