I don't know if there is a thread for this, but what kind do people like?
Deep Down Six Feet, Is Where I Like To Eat

Never getting into anything too nerdy, for lack of a better term
Big fan of Risk though. Got settlers of catan recently which is also very enjoyable

Risk is good craic if you have the willpower to finish it. Spheres of Influence is a game that's kind of based on Risk, but is designed to be much much shorter, like 3 hours max.

Settlers of Catan is a great game, easy to learn to. I've played the explorers and pirates expansion which is great.

Yeah  I played Settlers Of Catan, it was good.

I like a few classics.  Scrabble and Monopoly.  Would love to play DnD (i love video game rpgs so what difference)  but noboby else totally novice nearby at it.  Mad for a spot iof cards too, usually Lives or 25 or whatever your version is called, normally fuck a pack of cards in my pocket going to the pub for a round of it with whoever I'm drinking with, if they play.

25's is a great game yeah. Hearts is probably my favourite card game overall, I've gotten a lot of mileage out of that over the years.

I used to play a bit of warhammer when I was younger. Absolutely loved it. I still paint the odd figure here and there but haven't played a game in years now.
I'd love to get back into it but it's fairly time consuming and the rules have changed so much now.

Yeah there's many great games to be played with a deck of cards. 25's, Switch, Black Jack, Bullshit are some of my favourites.

Chess. The undisputed king of board games.

Scrabble is also great.

Hearts was a great game on the pc back in the day never played with a real deck. It and spider solitaire.

Poker obviously and spit is another great great card game.

Scrabble and rumikub got played every Sunday by the parents.

Read something recently that Hasbro games had a deal with the church where, up until the 90s, their gameas were being made by women in the work houses, laundries, baby killing centres. Apparently mouse trap was the worst to make.

Me and the missus play Scrabble a lot. I enjoy RPGs with some mates, recently did Call of Cthulhu which was great.

Not a board game as such bit Jigsaw puzzles are the business...hours literally pass by and
you dont give a fuck about anything else until its complete...

My mate got me into modern board games a few years ago (big fan of the traditional scrabble one. I know how to get rid of the Q).

There was a great one called Camal Up which was great, even played it during a zoom get together with half a dozen of us when the lock down was really severe.

A great one we would play around the family table at get together is Bang! A dice rolling game set in the wild west, even granny can play.

I'm very fond of chess and scrabble myself. Go is also an excellent board game but like chess can only be played by two players, a friend of mine got a go board years ago and we knocked untold hours of enjoyment out of it. Great game of strategy.

Any board game that involves dice can go and fuck its self .

I loved a bit of Dungeons & Dragons back when I was a young fella. If you had a decent lad leading the story, you could burn through a whole night without even noticing. The beauty of it was that all you needed was a notepad, a pen, dice and your imagination - which was handy cos we had fuck all else!

I used to love Space Crusade too. Jaysis, that takes me back. A few of the lads got into Warhammer and that's when I dropped out.

These days I play Monopoly if my nieces or nephew want to. I've tried to teach them to place chess but they don't have any interest.

Play cards (Gin Rummy and Take Two) with the missus.

The other game that I like a lot is Munchkin and its expansion packs. Great craic once you get a few people to play.
