Went out to see a band I love (Etran de L'air) and got just exactly the right amount of toasted before to be fully into their set. It's kind of West African grooves, but live (and a bit juiced) it's really hypnotic almost. Great show.

Of course then overdid it and stopped into the local cougar rock bar on the way back to try and keep the evening going. It's often packed, but this night had about 6 people on the dancefloor, rest of the bar is empty, and some lame cover band playing REM songs. Sitting alone with my drink at the bar feeling like fuckin' Steve Buscemi in Trees Lounge. What a comedown after a great night

On day 2 of the hangover now, which is standard these days.

Spending the past hour staring out the window at a lightning storm  :abbath:

Fork lightning hitting the mountain in front of me here too, spectaclur stuff although always thinking please don't let the fucking power go out.
Wearing jeans and leather, not crackerjack clothes

Two weeks off work which includes a trip to Sydney for a week. Never been there before so I'm quite excited to see what it has to offer  8) but just having two weeks off work is badly needed at this point. Brainfukkindead!

I've three weeks booked off in August, so looking forward to it. Middle of nowhere Donegal for two and a week to recover.

Have a blast dude!

Nice one, sir. You can't beat a good couple of weeks away from the madness of work. We made sure to give ourselves the week off at home after the week away because there's nothing worse than getting home from holidays and going straight back into work more fucked than when you left!

I wrote somewhere on this forum previously that a hangover you might get in your 20s (which disappeared before lunch) is the sort of thing that would make you wish for death in your 40s.

Downings is lovely, spent sometime at Falcarragh as well, these days we head to Portnoo, peaceful beautiful scenery and the kids love the beaches.

Post Metallica gig and not really drinking at it (parched), that first sip of an cold Bulmers with ice after walking from the Aviva to Bruxelles...so frigging satisfying! Downed in no time  :-*
