Plenty of mates got it done and all good for them. I actually have an eye condition where half the people with it get crippling migraines and the other half dont. I had crippling migraines when I was 16 so the eye doctor said it was probably that. But a side effect of the condition (can't remember the name of it it was so long ago) is you have have perfect 20 20 vision. Im 46 now and my vision hasn't degraded a bit. Hasn't stopped high blood sugar and other shit though.
