I would says its more of a case of mutually assured destruction, Trump has torn people to shreds for less controversial statements against him but his replies to Elon were fairly measured, I suspect Elon was too close to the bone.

I think they'd make even more of a big deal out of it, that's a fair comment but I still think the original was overblown.
