Fox News is the most watched media outlet in the US and it spews non-stop bullshit which is nevertheless taken at face value around the world. There's a simple test for this: if you recognize that what's happening now is genuinely authoritarian, that's because it is tangibly different to how things were being done previously. This contrast alone tells you that what was happening under Biden was not authoritarian. So logically, anyone telling you back then that it was authoritarian was pushing propaganda on you and if you ended up agreeing with it, you got taken in. And now several of the most flagrant propagandizing media heads are sitting in some of the highest positions of government.
