I've spent most of the day listening to Mörk Gryning, a band I used to listen to a lot but I completely forgot about until today. They're a pretty good black metal band from Sweden who I never seemed to get much attention. I'm not sure I've ever heard anybody talk about them. Any fans here?

I'd recommend either their first album Tusen år har gått... or Maelstrom Chaos as starting points. The newer stuff is also good but it can be a bit weird at times.

Debut album gets regular spins here. Incredible album but possibly got overshadowed by the best works of Unanimated, Naglfar and Dissection also released in 1995. The next two to three years saw releases by Sacramentum, Vinterland, The Moaning, Lord Belial, Noctes, Marduk and Dark Funeral which to these ears are the magna opera of the respective bands. Unparalled era in Swedish history for black metal. Interstingly the two members of Mork Gryning were aged 15 and 19 when their debut was released!

their best stuff is on their last album, it's kinda only half an album really but it would be worth a 2020 redo, which they won't do.

Peter Nagy such an underrated drummer

Not too familiar with the material after Maelstrom Chaos. Dug our the debut for a listen for the first time in probably 20 years. Return Fire is next for a revisit.

A new album has landed - Hinsides Vrede.  Only 15 years after the last one.

Listened to it once so far but it sounds promising, especially the first half.
