Just paid 140 euro each for tickets bit of a rip off in fairness what was the O2 last time in 2010 about 50 or 60 euro. Ticketmaster now have another great new thing were even after logging into your account you have to verify your not a bot by having them call you or text you a code which of course doesn't work properly all the time. Now in the queue trying to get tickets for another show.

Does "where you are" involve a currency exchange? Are you in the US? People were saying starting prices for Coachella are $500, so I'm not really sure where one would begin with an average cost of concerts versus cost of living versus average income type comparison tbh! But I guess you're talking about tickets to a single head-liner concert, for starters...?

Yes tickets cost $200 Cad which is 140euro. In regards to cost of living where I currently am the minimum wage in Ireland is higher and almost everything is more expensive then back home. Yes all shows are indoor headlining shows.

They announced third date an hour ago so I bought 3 sets of tickets to 3 different gigs and the total came to just over €1200. It just seems crazy that prices are almost triple what I paid 10 years ago back in Dublin other bands prices have not increased by that much. 95% of the time tickets to bands I have seen back in Ireland would be about the same price here.

To compare the cheapest tickets to the Prophets of rage gig I went to in 2016 were $45 which is about €31.

A quick google puts Tom Morello's net worth around $30 - 35 million. So i wouldnt exactly say they playing for their fellow working class at this point

Just like paying €120 for ticket to see international celebrity and multimillionaire Bruce Springsteen sing songs about the common man.

I've turned into a right auld cynical shite, but I really don't know how anyone can enjoy this sort of sthick.

Is that what Bruce is charging now? Last I hear it was €90 when he had that big Seeger Sessions band, about 10 or 12 of them in the Point. The next year he was back solo, essentially busking onstage, for the same ticket price. How does that work, then?

In other news cannibal corpse found to not be stripping, raping and/or strangling people  :( :o #sellouts

Equating Cannibal Corpse's obviously fantastical lyrical approach with RATM's overtly far left political rhetoric is a bit of a stretch.  That said, I think the argument is a bit ludicrous.  I've no doubt Rage are active outside of their main gig and probably donate to various causes and so on.  They are massively successful and massively successful bands get paid.  Simple as that,  really.

The entire proceeds from the first 3 shows of the tour are going to local activists in the area and some seats from each of the other shows were sold at a higher price than the others with the proceeds also going to some activist. At the end of the day I am sure I would not be in favour of some of the people they are donating to so they should just make donations out their own millions.

Another interesting thing is right before you clicked the confirm button to buy tickets for any of the gigs a message popped up saying something along the lines "the artist has requested that tickets not be given out until 10 days before the show to cut down on scalping" yet when I got onto ticketmaster now to check the shows I am going to loads of tickets for a few hundred each are available and if I go into my account the option to sell the tickets I bought is not available. I guess ticketmaster are not even being transparent anymore about scalping its own shows.
