Hoping this might ring a bell with someone. Am looking for a CD I heard in the Sound Cellar around the turn of the millennium. Apologies if the information given is vague but it has been more than two decades since I listened. The cover is purplish in colour and there is a rising moon partially covered by clouds in the foreground above some mountains. The genre is melodic death metal of the more guttural kind and I think the word "shadows" is either in the name of the band or the album title (or both if it's self-titled). Does the info above jog any memories? Thanks in advance.

That's the very one. Would not come to me. Very much obliged. I was starting to wonder if I'd dreamt it as hadn't come across it in physical or online format since. Many thanks for this. Now for a trip down memory lane and hopefully acquire on CD...

Not an album I'm familiar with but will more than happily check out. Only one of their albums I have is Crimson. Amazing artwork which is never a bad thing.

Edge Of Sanity: Nothing But Death Remains, by any chance?

It's a lot more straightforward than Crismon, they were originally a more conventional DM band. Still interesting, and well worth a listen.

Very solid listen and a drastic change from Crimson. They were an unbelievably busy band with releases from 91-97 including two full lengths in the latter year. Never knew they'd released a Crimson II. Plenty to keep a man busy.

I ignored Edge Of Sanity for years because I HATED the Black Tears video so much. I thought the song was awful and the guitarist that was dressed like Robb Flynn looked like a proper gimp. Little did I know...
