Bitter Peace is a good tune as well. I think World Painted Blood is by far the best out of all three bands' listed there (questionable guitar tone aside).

Most of the songs are short and punchy, and Psychopathy Red sounds like Dittohead's nasty little cousin.

There's a few duds on it (Americon and Playing with Dolls), but it's by some margin a better Slayer album had any right to be in 2009.

The Hanneman/Araya tracks were usually decent, always thought Bloodline was one of the best latter day ones. King had a few good ones bit his lyrics were just generally shite

Funny that Anthrax probably have the best recent output, and they still just stick to Among the Living and the tired covers for their setlist

A really good album, would've been a fitting closure too. Lombardo's performance unbelievable. I actually like the guitar sound - it's a skill in itself to play at that speed with such a frugal distortion. King's contributions do lower the tone a little - though I do like Public Display of Dismemberment - think that's the one with the blast beat.

exactly that. I think k it is a very dark album and reminds me of South Of Heaven in that regard

Definitely - Hanneman and Araya's lyrics were always on point. It's a shame King wrote the bulk of the 2000's material. Hard to believe it was written by the same dude that came up with the bulk of Divine Intervention
