Before the Diocletian gig last weekend I was introduced to Skullfucker from Bestial Warlust and his missus Vanthe who had a goth band in the early 90s called Leviathan, who I'm very curious to hear but can't find a thing online about them. She told me it was heavily influenced by Monumentum, so I'm guessing it was dark and with black metal influences.

They also had a band together called Netherworld, but as Skullfucker himself maintains it was more her band and he was helping out. She did vocals and wrote most of the music and he added some riffs and vocals here and there. I think that's the gist of it.

Metalion visited Australia at some point and stayed with them, and he ended up releasing their only album through Head Not Found in 96. I think it sounds fucking cool. Very Scandinavian influenced but with added Gothic touches and, not surprisingly, more than a bit of Australian chaos in the mix. It is always nice to find long lost gems like this.

Just coming back to this, this sounds great, love that icy mix. Musically it's super chaotic too which is the best way to be. Insane how many buried forgotten gems there are.

Great Metalion story too, that guy gets around, a true maniac.

I need to grab the CD asap. The Samael 7" boxset is next on my radar but after that... maybe.
