Vinterland - Welcome My Last Chapter
Dawn - Slaughtersun (Crown of the Triarchy)

On a classic melodic black binge after a discussion in another thread. Pure class.

Dissection - Storm of the Light's Bane
Watain - Casus Luciferi
Sacramentum - Far Away from the Sun
Dawn - Nær Solen Gar Niþer For Evogher

On a similar binge myself.  :abbath: Far Away from the Sun could easily slot into my all time top 5. It's a savage yet gorgeous album.

I think, in terms of sheer consistency all the way through, it might just be the best melodic black metal of all time for me.

Blut aus nord - Disharmium nahab
Electric wizard - dopethrone
Ghost bath - moonlover
Sloppy seconds - the first seven inches..
Nofx - the war on errorism

Sig:Ar:Tyr - The Stranger (glad this was a bonus CD).
Woods of Ypres - Woods lll: Deepest Roots and Darkest Blues
Sig:Ar:Tyr - Citadel of Stars
Saor - Origins

Oh?, Damn but I find it a pain in the arse getting round to bonus cds and extra tracks and shit like that. Well maybe it's more of the headspace I'm in at the minute like..must give that Darkthrone/Borknagar/Nocturnus one more go...
So does it compare to the album for Sig:Ar:Tyr..more primitive version of completely different stuff altogether? Glad as in glad I didn't pay for it ??!!

It is an ambient acoustic thing.  Just not what I was expecting so that probably threw me off.

Oh. Ok, ..well ..sounds ideal for when I'm working xmas night contemplating what the fuck I'm doing with my life.

Sigrblot- Blodsband. I have this on repeat lately. Such a monumental album.

Solefald - The Linear Scaffold. This could have made it into my top five albums of all time.

Ooh yeah that one was an eye opener back in the day alright. I picked up everything they put out since.

Very annoying that he won't do a reissue and just seems to care about Bardo these days. Been trying for years to get the vinyl but early on all that ever came up for sale was copies with no booklet and nowadays with a lot of people knowing it won't be reissued the prices are scandalous. I have the GBK split but the full length is definitely in my top 20 albums of all time.

Pardon my ignorance but what's the Bardo/Sigrblot connection?

Not a fan of either, just curious

Vocalist is the person behind the zine.

Rainbow – Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow

'Catch The Rainbow' must be one of their best songs

Ronnie is great with Blackmore

EDIT: The vocal lines/melodies in 'The Temple Of The King' are almost sublime
The range & build of vocal lines are great
Must be the only acoustic guitar by Richie during his Rainbow/Deep Purple years?
