Well this is unexpected, and just as Riggs is about to release a solo album:

QuoteDax Riggs' legendary sludge metal band, Acid Bath, has announced its first show in nearly 30 years. The group, who disbanded in 1991 and reformed in 1997, will resurface in April 2025 at the Sick New World metal event in Las Vegas. Alongside them on stage will be Metallica, Linkin Park, Queens of the Stone Age, Tomahawk, The Sisters of Mercy, and Refused, to name a few. It is unknown at this time whether Acid Bath will plan any more performances.

QuoteA video posted by guitarist/vocalist Sammy Duet confirmed that the lineup will be rounded out by Goatwhore drummer Zack Simmons and bassist Alex Bergeron (Former Agents of Oblivion).

When The Kite String Pops is an all-time classic for me but I've never listened to a single note of anything else they've released. Would love to catch them, Euro dates prob unlikely atm anyways.

I've listened to the other releases and some of his solo stuff and enjoyed them but, like that, When The Kite String Pops is the only one I come back to over and over. Doubt they'll make it over near these parts, but I'd definitely go to see them live.

I could never make my mind up about WTKSP, it's a very odd album. Never heard another note of theirs.

Great band, the perfect mix of grunge and sludge. Both albums are very good, but the songs on Paegan Terrorism Tactics are slightly better.

I remember reading an interview with one of the band members who couldn't understand why Acid Bath weren't as popular as the likes of Deftones. Maybe because ye sound like a weird hybrid of Eyehategod and Alice In Chains, and one of your album covers is a John Wayne Gacy painting!

I'm absolutely delighted. Back in 2010 there was a girl cuddling up to me at a house party but when I started talking about WTKSP, she got her friend to escort her home straight away. They've since gotten really popular with zoomers, doubt they'd have been booked for Sick New World otherwise.

Down, Soilent Green, Crowbar, Goatwhore and EHG have been here over the years and have gotten great responses (except for Soilent who played to 30 people). If they played in London I'd absolutely fly over but feck paying thousands to watch a festival set in a car park.

I'd say Damnation might make a play for them next year.

Hopefully they'll get the rights to the albums back as the crowd who've been pressing the records for the last few years haven't paid them a cent.

Yup, I remember seeing a girl in her late teens wearing a WTKSP t-shirt in Athens a few years ago and couldn't believe it, but have since seen them a couple times more.

Are you boasting about the time you didn't get your hole? Strange.

Soilent Green was on a weekday in May one year if I remember correctly a number of other shows were on around the same time which I think is why it got such a poor turnout. The gig was still great. Great band and so much better than Goatwhore who always seem to get a turnout when they play here.

That's a strange way to interpret it, it was more to illustrate the impact they had on me a long time ago to the extent that I'd yap about them to a completely new person.

Yeah man, I was just being silly. Don't stress ;)
