I (obviously) haven't been paying much attention to new metal that isn't of the black-death variety recently, but apparently Tourniquet released a new album last year and Ripper Owens is the lead vocalist on almost all of it, with Chris Poland playing most of the leads:

The previous album, Antiseptic Bloodbath, was absolutely forgettable, but this seems pretty decent, though the wtf? factor is strong so realistically I'll listen to it four or five times max. Still though, didn't see that coming!

Ripper did some great work on that first Charred Walls album. He's well able for it. Let us know if you're still interested after another few spins and I'll give it a go

Hate them lyric vids. The solos though..pure cream..class!

Not too expensive on bandcamp, will pick this up.

The track with Deen Castronovo - ex of Journey - has perhaps even more of a wtf? factor. Great track though, absolutely classic Tourniquet.

that's really pretty good.

I picked up that album last year. The snare is mixed way too loud and it starts grating fairly quickly. The songs aren't strong enough to overcome it.

Ripper is now involved in K.K. Downing's new thing which should be released this year. Poland just released a new album called Resistance which is good stuff.

I'm pretty sure it's a Roland kit: a nicely tuned acoustic kit will forever sound superior, same with most things
