How Anthrax and not Metal Church made the Big 4, god only knows. When they´  re on form they are an incredible band and Blessing in Disguise is an absolute stormer of an album. They replaced David Wayne with Mike Howe and the Metallica guitar tech John Marshall came in on guitar..the guitars themselves are a veritable Hetfieldesque, crunching, warm Gibson, down picking orgy. Not a bad tune on the album..a must listen for anyone who loves their Metal heavy and thrash. Any fans here?

I like a bit of Metal Church, have The Dark, Blessings in Disguise, Masterpeace and XI. all good solid albums. Also have their new one on order.  Keep meaning to pick up their other albums but something new or shiney always distracts me.

Still spin it regularly it's an absolute peach of an album,I remember seeing the video for badlands on an itv programme powerhour and I went to Newry the next day and bought the cassette

Great album and one of the best live Metal bands I've seen.

I adore the David Wayne albums and this one. Any others worth checking out?

Brilliant band, and fantastic live. Haven't picked up the new one yet though. And as for the old stuff, The Human Factor'd be my favourite.

Criminally underrated band. "Blessing in Disguise" is maybe my favourite album from Metal Church, mature songwriting & fantastic playing - all topped off with a Terry Date production and a song that references Belfast in the lyrics! Despite John Marshall joining,  Kurdt Vanderhoof continued to write the vast majority of the material - he was just fed up with touring/didn't fit with his lifestyle.

Second album with Mike Howe, "The Human Factor" is decent enough but if you're looking for something on par with "Blessing in Disguise", Heretic's 1988 album "Breaking Point" is as close as you'll get to it. It's phenomenal, had Howe on vocals and was produced by K.Vanderhoof & Bill Metoyer (Slayer, Armored Saint, Sacred Reich etc.).

The gig in Belfast last year as fucking amazing - Howe's voice was unreal. The album they were touring, "XI", is about as good as it gets from any legacy metal band - sounds like the kind of album Metallica should be putting out

The new one "Damned If You Do" is taking me a bit of time to warm to, I've spun it twice and it hasn't really clicked, but i'll revisit it over the holiday period.
